I am thinking about getting this. I've been using a kayfun Clone for about 2 years. The threads are worn out. I see almost all the more modern atomizers are coming with the tip that is a more open circle. My understanding is that makes more of a lung hit. I don't like lung hits. I like mouth to lung. My friend tells me you can achieve mouth to lung by closing the air control. Is that true? Can I get mouth to lung on this?

I wonder if part of the reason for the leaks is bc i'm not vaping it at 100+ watts using the 2.5 juice holes.

I haven't even come close to those wattages. I vape this tank at 25 watts and have not had one dry hit or leak except for one drop on the first fill. Second fill is about to happen. Let you know if it leaks..

Not too sure who I was emailing back and forth at Subtank Supply when I was enquiring about a tracking number for my Boreas (ROXY) tank, but when I asked if he had any idea when the Merlin was being released he replied saying "Which one is that?" I think I was talking to the wrong person (hopefully!! :D) Just hope it's soon when we see this new tank :)

I just she was here (You know who ;)) and we could then get a better idea of when this Merlin is being released.

Also and I hope it's okay to ask this on this thread, but is there any news if our parrot loving, Boreas/Merlin designing girl is coming back to this forum or not?

Nope! IMHO the only ways this tank leaks is 1) Improper filling 2) Not enough wick! You have to use enough wick to ensure the tails are laying on top of the holes, covering them completely! I use Rayon (@suprtrkr) exclusively so I can get away with more wick than cotton users! So the way that has been working for me is to leave the tails long, fold the tails under the coils (overlapping is a good thing), & kinda poke your wick down so it lays flat over holes & is not touching the bottom of the coils! The design of this tank lets me use as much wick as you want without worrying about juice flow or air flow! I believe that you probably couldn't stuff enough enough Rayon in it to block off the air completely, well maybe but you'd really have to work at it! LOL!

By the sounds of it, you should wait for the Merlin. I am a MTLer as well and have thought hard about getting this but it is not really a tank for MTL. Roxy did build a single coil in hers but it was a 4mm coil. That is not for MTL. As for the drip tips, I use the wide drip tips for MTL. Just a matter of getting used to them. I can't use the small ones anymore. I am going to wait on the Merlin.

I use the 2mm deck at work with a simple 3.5mm 26G 6 wrap dual build. hitting it around 50-75 watts. when im at home I swap in the 2.5mm deck that has a dual fused clapton 2x26 / 32Gss316 6 wraps at 3mm and I can run that ting all the way up to 200 on my RX.

once Roxy went over how to refill it for me (I swear i thought I had read how to in the manual but I had two steps backwards) I never get any leaking when refilling. granted just for the ease of it i normally bottom fill, but I stripped it and scrubbed it last night and didn't tighten the topcap on all the way, can still see a bit of the o-ring through the gap, so tonight when i have to refill im gonna top fill it. By far still me favorite tank I own, and I own quite a few...

This. It's been my experience with the original Aromamizer, the Aromamizer Supreme, and now the Boreas that you can't go wrong with more wick. I recently doubled the amount of cotton I was using and it made a huge difference. A nice wet vape and I can do nice long lung hits without a hint of dry burn. I was really surprised as I'm using 100% VG (as well as the 2.5 mm juice holes).

I just cut a length of cotton about 1/4 inch wide (layered Japanese organic) and then roll one end to feed it through my coil (I'm doing horizontal coils here). Once the cotton is in place I pull the ends down and cut them off even with the bottom of the deck. Then I fluff out the ends on each one (I think this is important) and then gently tuck each end in so it's sitting on the bottom of the deck. It ends up looking like I stuffed a cotton ball straight down onto the deck and pulled it apart so you could see the coils. Then I wet it down with juice and reassemble. Works every time.

Yeah, I started only tightening the top fill tank just slightly looser and you can still see just a little of the o-ring. It now comes off easy enough it does not turn the chimney section and the glass/tank stays solid. I was over tightening the top cap.

I see no difference in the way you would wick an aromamizer and the Boreas. I got my Boreas working very well on the first try using the same amount of cotton and method I use for the Aromamizer. So far no leaks to speak of but I have only top filled it a couple times.

I have found you don't need to really tighten the top cap to get a good seal and so far it comes right off.

This one is super duper, but if you are a MTL Kayfun type, you might want to wait for the Merlin to at least look at it before taking the plunge. First pics should be available in a few days and we are hoping for shipping dates in 2-3 weeks.
