Hi all,
E-juice manufacturer in Australia.

I have approached a reputable manufacturer about making e-juice.

here is what I sent --

Hello
I am wondering if it is possible for you to produce a liquid based on the following components,
with possibilities different flavour additives
and different nicotine levels.
% for different levels can be supplied.

The liquid is to be used as an inhaling vapour with electronic cigarettes.

components -
substance = e-liquid

Water 4%
Alcohol 5%
Vegetable glycerine*** 88.8%
Nicotine 1.6% = real nicotine as in tobacco extract
Flavor base * 0.6% = variety of food type flavours.
Total 100%

if this is possible
can you give me a ball park figure of cost per litre.

thanks
Di Kerry

now he is willing to do it,
but needs a direct source of nicotine,
where can I direct him.....

any help please - source must be in Australia.

Di .....

Any chemist can buy it from one of their suppliers.

partly true, but only in certain quantities. And if the manufacturer doesn't have a source for materials like nic, not sure you really want them dealing with it to be quite honest. different countries have different laws... its best to check your own state/country :)

you need to have a chemist and lab do the initial batches, then find a manufacturer to replicate once the formula is proven/stable/ and most importantly, safe....

Yeah. I'm a bit concerned about that too, Cashmere. Make sure they know to get a better grade of PG. It comes in different grades, from stuff good enough for engine coolant to stuff good enough for intravenous injection. Dunno what ours has, though... hehehe

I don't know about you Bertrand, but I am a very proud coolant smoker!!! LOL ...

In all seriousness di ... be careful bud. Making consumer nicquid (who thought of this name? dablack I think ...) isn't just brick and mortar throw ingredients together and waa-laa, you have a safe and *steardy* eliquid. I'm no chemist, nor will I claim to be, my knowledge is limited, but I just urge strong caution bud! You are talking about making a liquid with poision suspended in liquid, plain and simple ...

In the end, its your decision! Have fun and be safe :thumb:

Yes, to an extent. My personal feeling is it's not a complex procedure, and you'd have to do something pretty stupid to screw it up.

On the other hand, I've seen a Johnsons Creek post from a while back that did seem dangerously stupid. They sent out a batch which didn't have enough PG in it. No mention anywhere of the increase in nicotine concentration this would entail, and had a line like "even bad JC is still good" to a question about whether they should discard it. I don't think a pharmacist would make this mistake, or fail to realize its implications if they did.

It is to get that perfect touch of throat hit, vapor production, and safety. Plus dealing with any concentration in a poisonous material takes lots and lots of care ... you ain't mixing/manufacturing shampoo or body lotion! LOL ... Although, some of them fruity fragrances can be quite deadly ...

Guess so: I was thinking more in terms of it hurting people. The ingredients and quantities are listed for ruyan liquid, so it wouldn't be too hard to get the vapour / throat hit right. Flavourings might need tweaking though.

Yeah ... All eliquid pretty much have the same 4 - 5 *main* ingredients, flavors, flavor boosters, etc... is what makes each and everyone unique :)

ok
I have decided not to pursue this e-liquid manufacturing.

I understand and thankyou for your concerns,
the inclusion of the nicotine is the only difficult/dangerous part,
and because of the inherant danger,
I agree with you all --
untill we can get a pharmacist to make and test it
it is probably best left alone.

We will all takes our chances on the china products.

when I have used all the juice I have on hand,
I think I will just make my own at home
with no nicotine, no pg,
just glycerine, pure water, and some
nice flavours.
