So I ordered some KR808D batteries to try out on my 901 atomizers, and I can't get them to work exactly right. It seems like I have to suck really hard to get the battery to activate. Sometimes it will turn itself off in the middle of inhaling (not from the timeout, just shuts off with no blinking). I have found if I cover the air hole on the side of the atomizer, the battery activates fine and I get decent vapor. Is covering this hole bad for the atomizer, or can I continue doing this?

I have that same problem.... same basic setup (attys from VaporKings... batteries are my originals from SmokeTip).

I'm wondering if it has something to do with the bottom of the atty getting gunked up with juice. I never really had an issue when I was using dekang PG stuff, but since I've been on 70/30 PG/VG from Viking its started happening.

I find if I clean the atty out really good (boil in filtered water) the issue goes away for a while, but only for a day or two.

I've been using the body of a cartomizer cap with the end cut off to slide up the atty and cover the whole, but with limited success. The trick is not to cut off air flow completely, just enough to effect the draw. It's a pretty fine line. I was using my thumb for this for a while, but I noticed I was getting juice on my thumb this way, which I would rather not.

I'd love to hear if anybody else has a better solution to this problem (apart from just buying another manual battery, which is the solution that is going to get implemented pretty soon).

I tried several 901 attys that I have here on my desk with a XL 808 battery. All of them but the white ones seemed to work fine.

You can block the hole on the atty slightly to adjust the draw needed.

If that doesn't fix it, let me know and we will get something out to you that works.

Thanks :)

Well after doing some more experimenting, it appears it was the atomizers that were at fault. I put in a brand new atomizer and the battery seemed to fire just fine.

It's odd that some of my 901 batteries work flawlessly on the old (apparently gunked up) atomizers, while some other batteries barely work at all. I wonder why this is.
