Reading about leaking refilled cartos killing auto batts has made me a bit paranoid. Can't buy manuals right atm.

I've been filling a puffing all day and greatly enjoying myself. Once I have filled a carto, made sure the tube is clear and dry and made sure the battery connections are all clean and dry, can the carto still leak and kill my batt?

That's what I do. You should be OK if you fill them carefully and clean them up well. I also touch soft tissue to the top of the stuffing after blowing out the air channel (while the open end of the carto is still down). Some people are not so careful. And no matter how careful I am, sometimes one leaks a bit. When can you can afford to, buy a spare battery. Everyone should have a 3rd battery for an ecig they depend on.

Well, my girlfriend is a little miffed at the money I've spent so far. She'll get over it when she realizes I haven't bought a pack of smokes in a month. So I don't want to go out and buy and Ego-T quite yet. Maybe I can sneak a KR8 manual in. :)

So, yeah, I am very careful and always triple check for any moisture and dry it well with a towel. I like the idea of touching up the filler with a tissue or Q-Tip; good idea.

I guess it depends on what type of carto you use. I've been using my echo autos for months and haven't had any leaking carto problems. The Echo 3.4 ml carto doesn't leak at all if you fill it properly. I simply let the carto set a few minutes after filling in case of any overflow and never top off or refill while it is attached to battery. I carry in a lanyard all day and haven't had any problems even though it is perpendicular.

Yeah not really diggin on the auto's. I started with an eGo standard and it was the best. I then not long after won on one of those free auctions a kit with a few 401 batteries couple of atty's to fit and some cartridges. There okay for a couple of puffs but then i cant seem to get ANYTHING out of them. i have to let them sit forever before i can get another real puff. Dont even get me started on refiling them either, its just a huge mess. the inside tank is so tiny its not even worth it. i can fit 3-4 drops at a time when toping them off and i have ot be carefull with it or they flood. Not to mtneion they just get greasy with juice. I am glad i never invested any money in to these. Casualy i wil use them but when i really want to vape i reach for my eGo with its 501 cartomizer.

just don't forget a charger ....if you buy a single big batt...they need a bigger charger

...or just get one of the usb passthru ego's < is not quite 1100mAh ...but there might be some that big elsewhere..... the point being that I think these are cheaper than buying a batt & charger separately.

The Echo that Textumbleweed mentioned above comes in like 900-1300 I think .

The passthru ability is just an added perk to the way this battery charges ...

The perk being that even if the battery is dead you can still use it while plugged in .

or when charged... use it unplugged away from computer.

...you still plug it in to charge tho just like the other batts .

so the only reason I brought this unit ('bout $25) up is
that it would probably be cheaper
than buying a single big battery & charger ( 'bout $30) or
a whole big batt kit .('bout $33)

prices vary...but if you shop sales &or buy generic "ego like" batts you MAY find them a little cheaper ... for example goodprophets.com
