Hello all,

Once again thanks for all the help so far, I have decided on the Volt but I have a few questions:

Which battery is the best? Auto, Manual, Sealed-Auto?

If I buy 5-pack pre-filled cartomizers....can I refill them with juice?

If i try to fill my own with juice....do I need to get the manual or sealed-auto?

How many puffs and refills can I get off of one cartomizer?

Thank you. :p

The type of battery all depends on what you like. I started with an auto and have since switched to manuals. I like 'em better because they seem to hit harder than the auto batteries.

Yes, you can refill the pre-filled cartos. Two buddies of mine do it; one buys RY4 prefilled and refills 'em with the same kind of juice but my other friend buys Virginia prefilled and refills 'em with whatever he has on hand.

The manuals are easier if you're refilling because you don't have to take the cartomizer off to refill it.

My cartomizers last around 3-4 days. No one can really say how long they'll last you because everyone takes different kinds of draws, uses different juices, and different amounts of juice.

Most guys here, including myself will recommend a manual battery for you. Besides the safety aspect of it (no hole for juice to leak into and kill your battery) you can also "pre-warm" it by hitting the button before you actually draw on it, allowing you maximum vapor.

Yes you can refill the pre-filled cartomizers but I'd stick to similar flavors unless you plan on cleaning them in between.

I don't have any experience with the new sealed-auto batts, but then again I'm a manual person.

Cartomizer life varies on numerous factors, if/how often you top off, whether or not you clean them, so on and so forth. Cartos can last anywhere between 3 days and 2 weeks if properly maintained.

As far as how many puffs you can get off of one before it needs to be refilled, couldn't tell you, I either use a tank setup or top off religiously, I have no idea how long an 808 carto would last without it.

Hello all,

Once again thanks for all the help so far, I have decided on the Volt but I have a few questions:

Which battery is the best? Auto, Manual, Sealed-Auto?
None are best, it's a matter of which you prefer. Autos let you puff without pushing any buttons. Some prefer them for ease of use - simply puff. Manuals, you must push the button to turn the battery on. Some prefer them for control of the puff - you can turn the battery on for a second or two before you puff and get a bigger/warmer hit. Smokeless Image is the only company I know of with sealed automatics, and they'll be replacing the old autos completely as soon as stock is sold out.

If I buy 5-pack pre-filled cartomizers....can I refill them with Juice?
Sure can. That's my preferred method - I can get a good week to 10 days out of a single carto.

If i try to fill my own with juice....do I need to get the manual or sealed-auto?
Either would be fine - just take the carto off the battery when you fill if you're using autos, so if the carto leaks, you won't get juice down in the center hole, which could kill the battery. The new sealed autos will be much better for this, but they're still marketed as leak resistant, not proof. Personally, I top off all the time with the carto on the batt - I'm just careful and drip small drops down the sidewalls, and I know if I kill a batt doing this, shame on me.

How many puffs and refills can I get off of one cartomizer?
As I said before, I can get several days out of a carto. How many puffs is subjective - I never counted, personally. :) I go more by how much juice I go through, which is about 20-30ml per week. YMMV

Thank you. :p
You're welcome, hope this helped. IMO, you're starting with a great kit. Come join the conversation in the Smokeless Image Thread, if you'd like - there's a great crew there and you'll get a warm welcome.

Which battery is the best? Auto, Manual, Sealed-Auto?...most member use & recommend manual

If I buy 5-pack pre-filled cartomizers....can I refill them with Juice?...expensive way to use e-liquid,try blank cartomizer & fill with yr fav e-liquid

If i try to fill my own with juice....do I need to get the manual or sealed-auto?..many ways to refill use/new cartos..i use syringe method

How many puffs and refills can I get off of one cartomizer?...i am a fan of the tank system,my 70pg/30vg mixtures between 80 to 100 puffs on 1/2ml cartridge tank..so depending on how much yr carto holds should be in proportion

glad U chosen to vape & welcome to ECF DemiseAngel..regards mafig

Thank you, manual battery it is, I will also but 10-5 packs of RY4 and 60ml refills...this should last me a while. = D

It will last you awhile, but that is alot to get if you haven't tried it and don't know if you'll like it. It's up to you, but you might want to take a look at some of the variety packs of cartos in order to try some different flavors and decide which you like best before you invest in a lot of juice. Also, you may not want to limit yourself to one flavor - most everyone here has anywhere from a few to a few hundred they switch between - I keep 6, myself. It can be easy to get burnt out on one flavor - they kind of go flat if you vape the same one all the time.

Hi mafig - Prefilled cartos from SI are the same price as blanks, so in this case it's a better deal to get the prefilled and some juice to refill/top off. It's like getting that first fill up for free. Blanks are great, though, if you want to use something other than SI juices.

Sounds like good advice, so what is the key to keeping these cartomizers alive for like a week? How will I know when it is time to refill it?

You'll know by the taste - and frankly, you'll probably toast one by letting it get too dry and decide you never want to taste that taste again. :D

Seriously, it will begin to taste a bit dry/not full, rich flavor. Pop the cap off, tilt the carto, (you don't want juice down that middle hole at all - if you get any in there, turn the carto around and blow through the threaded end to clear it), and drop a few drops around the edges until it looks a little bit slushy. You'll also get used to the color of the filler - it gets kind of white and dry looking. It takes awhile to get it down to a science, but once you do it for a bit you'll get so you know when to top off before you even get a sign/taste that you need to. Becomes second nature.

I bought a bunch of the sealed autos too, and there's no difference at all, except of course thats it sealed. a cart lasts me about 8 hours, but I'm a chain vaper. Not a fan of their pre-filled cart flavors tho, especially their tobacco flavors. not for me. I buy blanks and liquid now. I really love the volt kit when I'm out. At home, I use the V-go..battery lasts forever

I do something similar - use the Volt when I'm out and about, and use a 900 mAh T-Rex at home, because I really like the battery life.

...my comments are auto batts are more delicate and HATE any liquid in the air hole...manuals allow you to control the batt instead of it controlling you...don't buy large quantities of juice in any one flav at first...you may or may not like it and your tastes will probably change as you detox from the funkarettes...buying several flavs in smaller batches is better at first to find what you really like...and don't be afraid to try diff flavs, vaping is nothing like smoking and there are some absolutely amazing flavs out there.......

Great advice. I bought all 3 sampler packs & liked the ry4 & original grape so much I bought 30ml each of them. Ives used maybe half of each bottle & I'm growing tired of them. They are still good don't get me wrong, however I've had a chance to try a few other flavored from other suppliers & realized there are tons & tons of options out there.

I just automatically start each battery charge with a filled carto and refill the cartos at night. Nothing special to do about making them last a week really. I haven't gotten any less than a week out of one yet and usually more. I just cleaned a bunch of them for the first time ever mostly out of curiosity. Seems to work great so far but I don't know how long a cleaned one is going to last yet.
