Hey guys,

I got a 510 otw with 2 man battries and I was just wonding how they work. Do you turn it on and just drag, then back off? Or leave it on intill your done smoking for the session?

Thanks for any feedback!

The 510 has a manual button on the battery casing that you push to activate the atomizer and let off of it to stop.

I push the button a moment/second before I take the ecig to my mouth (this begins atomizing the liquid so you have some vapor to inhale as soon as you get the ecig to your mouth - this not the case with the auto...see link below). I leave it pressed for drawing and then let it go toward the end of the drag. This saves on battery power. If you hang on the battery take a drag, keep holding, take another drag, etc. you'll be charging your batteries often.

You should get about 1 to 2 hours (ymmv) on each charge of a regular manual 510 battery. That time will decrease as the battery gets older but it will be awhile before you notice that.

The little button is your switch. Pressing it provides the electrical juice that heats up the coil in your atomizer (the smaller tube that screws into the battery). The heat from the atomizer then vaporizes the nicotine juice in the cartridge (the mouthpiece with absorbent filler inside). 1. Press (the little LED on the end of your battery should go on). 2. Inhale. 3. Let go of the button (LED goes out). 4. Blow out the vapor. 5. Repeat. It's that simple. The important thing to remember is to definitely let go of that button between drags!

Some people do a direct inhale into their lungs. Others prefer to pull the vapor into their mouths before inhaling it. Some folks depress the button for 2 or 3 seconds and others like a longer drag. One advantage of the manual battery is that you get to decide. You just need to experiment and find what you like best using different types of juice with different levels of nicotine strength. (BTW, if your plan is to just try out the pre-filled carts that come with your 510, I'd strongly suggest that order some juice now--rather than waiting.)

Everything will make sense when your kit arrives and you actually have the thing in your hands. Meantime, check out the newcomers guides on this and other forums. You'll find answers to just about any question you might have (often with a link to a video demonstration) Happy vaping.

Ya iv done some looking, it is kinda hard, doing this all from my cell phone at the moment lol, surfing is a pain, one last question, and i dont wanna make a whole new thread.

I got a kit that comes with 5 prefilled carts, after those are done, do i just refill those with juice of my choice?

You can refill the pre-filled carts. But the taste will probably diminish before you've vaped them nearly dry. (I've never dried one out completely) You'll want a bottle of juice to 'top off' the carts--meaning, fill up a partly filled cart so you get optimal flavor and vapor. Look into 'dripping' as well. If you have a sealed manual battery, you can safely drip 2 or three drops right on top of the atty. It keeps the atty wet --which improves flavor, vapor, and atty longevity. So you'll need that juice soon after you get your kit.

I purchased some vaping 'tools' when I first started and a few of them have become a standard part of my vaping kit. One handy item is a pair of long nosed tweezers (yes, you can use a paper clip-- but these are better). Another great tool in my kit is a needle-less syringe where I stash used cart filler. Because there is still a lot of juice in some used carts, I store them in the syringe and then squeeze out a few more drops to drip on the atty or top off another cart. (. . . also handy if you happen to tip over a bottle of juice. Grab some cart filler, soak it up, and drop it in the syringe for later use. . .) You can get these sorts of tools from a lot of suppliers. I got mine from JC (Johnson Creek). Accessories

When you have a chance, I'd get in front of a computer and fully explore the how-to/newcomers guides and videos. The newcomers forum in ECF is a great place to start. Well worth your time.
