I am very new to vaping and I am currently loving (and adapting) to my 510 after trying Blu (and returning them).

I was just wondering if anyone would care to share their habits regarding how/when they vape.

1) What kinda vaping device do you use? Since we seem to vape longer than smoking an analog, How long does your typical "smoking session" last?

2) How many sessions per day?

3) Have you counted the number of drags, puffs and the number of good vs. average throat hits that you get per session?

4) Finally, how long does one cartridge last with regards to the quality of the vape, TH, drag, flavor before you top it off? For examples, do you find yourself topping off within each "vaping session"?

I know all these vary from person to person, and from e-cig model to e-cig model. After reading lots of threads I found bits and pieces of this info here and there, but I would like to know more. The only other thread that discussed this only talked about ml/per day of nicotine and I am not as interested in numbers as I am habits to try to get a sense of where I'm at.;-)

Also, the coffee stirrer mod seems to work really well and it is pretty easy.

Bits and pieces? - You must not bit hitting the right threads - From what I have seen these are the MOST talked about subjects on this forum - after the FDA disputes - :)

I'll give you my answers though -

    1) What kinda vaping device do you use? Since we seem to vape longer than smoking an analog, How long does your typical "smoking session" last?

I primarily use the JantyStick and have a KissBox for backup - session lasts from the time I wake till the time I go to sleep - I do stop to eat -
    2) How many sessions per day?

    See above

    3) Have you counted the number of drags, puffs and the number of good vs. average throat hits that you get per session?

    Nope

    4) Finally, how long does one cartridge last with regards to the quality of the vape, TH, drag, flavor before you top it off? For examples, do you find yourself topping off within each "vaping session"?

I have taken to dripping - 3-4 drops lasts about as long as a good slow burning American Spirit

    1) What kinda vaping device do you use? I mostly use my 510 and my 084 (alternating between them depending which is closer on the desk) Since we seem to vape longer than smoking an analog, How long does your typical "smoking session" last?
I use mine like a pacifier.. all day every day pretty much non stop

    2) How many sessions per day?
No idea :) I guess I'd say 1 though I do put my pv down from time to time
    3) Have you counted the number of drags, puffs and the number of good vs. average throat hits that you get per session?
Never counted, as for good vs. average.. I'd say the vast majority are good, only get average or bad when batteries are dieing or I need to top off

    4) Finally, how long does one cartridge last with regards to the quality of the vape, TH, drag, flavor before you top it off? For examples, do you find yourself topping off within each "vaping session"? I top off 1 - 3 drops or so every 30-45min (ish) but again I don't count or pay strict attention. I just sort of go with the flow

Also, the coffee stirrer mod seems to work really well and it is pretty easy.
I tried that.. ended up with a leaking cartridge.. not sure what I did wrong there *scratches head*

Heya Bones, I was getting the sense that most people vaped all day long, I guess I should have been clear as to how many drags people are getting from their e-liquid filled carts before having to top off. If this info is in the FDA discussions, I guess I should look at those (I just didn't want to get too upset about possible restrictive laws when I'm just getting started) :-O

The other questions are just complementary (re: model, how many "sessions", how long does the session last vs. how long does the cart last before topping and the e-cig type).

Your answers help a great deal, so thanks to you both Ryle and Bones :D Anyone else feel free to share please.

    I use the Screwdriver (SD).
Depending on my time, anywhere from 10 min to 1 hour straight. Shorter in the day since i'm working, and longer at nights when I can vape all I want.

    2) How many sessions per day?

Sort of like my analog habit - between 15 to 20 sessions

    3) Have you counted the number of drags, puffs and the number of good vs. average throat hits that you get per session?

I always get good throat hits, it's the amount of vapor that I produce that determines when I need to re-fill. I tried to count, but then I get side tracked and then forget to count.

    4) Finally, how long does one cartridge last with regards to the quality of the vape, TH, drag, flavor before you top it off? For examples, do you find yourself topping off within each "vaping session"?

Yes, I top off for each session. The same cartridge last me 3 to 4 days with topping off, before I replace it with a new cart.

That makes absolutely no sense to me. Now I'm *really* lost. Thanks for nothing Kreel, way to welcome a new vaper.

Please explain to us again why you need this information. If the FDA is interested in e-cigs it would be in this exact area you are evaluating. I'm not trying to confuse you, but let the FDA fund their own research.

I will explain myself because I like the forum, and the mod Kreel re-posted on the 510 forum is awesome and really helped me out.

I am sorry you feel paranoid Kreel but I appreciate the efforts to protect our community and our freedoms. Perhaps my language sounded too formal (I am a geeky in an academic sense since I teach at a university).

My inquiry was not for any other purpose than for personal use. Before I actually started vaping, I had anxieties about becoming more addicted to nicotine than I am already (since I only smoke 1-5 cigs a day). So I wanted to get a sense on how folks vaped on a regular basis so compare it to my own to see if I fitted in the rest--but this has now changed:

Now that I started vaping, I am no longer as concerned with this but I do find it very interesting nevertheless. But the feedback from others, who shared their experiences in order to relieve the anxieties of a new vaper (me), were extremely helpful!! So thanks to: Vaping Angel, Rile and Bones.

And Stephaniems, now that I am vaping, I understand what you mean when you say "your body will tell you". But before I started, I had serious concerns as to whether or not I would become more of an addict. Now, I don't really give a sh*t b/c I like vaping too much!

BTW, I am selling an SD in the swap/sell section in case anyone is interested in buying one from an FDA undercover agent***

***this was meant as a joke. I am in no way affiliated directly or indirectly to the FDA or any governmental organization from the US or any other nation or planet.

I'm curious too as I have no clue if I'm vaping too much or not. What does your body say when it's had too much vape? Are we including the nic juice strength? I'm trying to stay with low strength as I would eventually like to vape 0 strength. My husband thinks the nicotine is great, and he would rather have a higher strength. He quit smoking 5 years ago and never wants to pick up an analog, but he loves the nicotine.

I had the same concern but decided whatever happened I wanted to get off the analogs. Now that I have a decent set of equipment and am getting the hang of this I'm the same way. I have some 36 mg juice arriving today for those "tense" moments and a Prodigy on order from PS. Yesterday I "forgot" to smoke an analog.

    Am I liking this?! :D:D

Hey guys. I hadn't checked back on this thread b/c just the thought of folks thinking I belong to the FDA because of my geeky language freaked me out.

I am glad that you guys understand my initial concern, and I am actually pretty amazed that not more people that start out vaping have these questions, re: how do you know if you're vaping too much.

Like Stephaniems said, I got the hang of it, listening to my body. My body loves nic, and I am definitely getting more nicotine into my system than I use to with analogs (the stench prevented me from smoking more). However, the "stench" is what was killing me faster than the nic itself (tar, carbon monoxide, etc) so I decided to go with 36mg (my favorite) whenever I felt I needed a strong hit and kick, and lower doses, 18, 16 (which is still pretty high).

I am finding that as time goes by, it is easier for me to lower the nic content to a level that doesn't freak me out, as long as I get a strong TH. Don't get me wrong, I love nic. But because I love it so much, and I have such an addictive personality, I don't want it to get to the point when I will want more than 36mg and go crazy because it is not available.

In conclusion: As a new vaper I just want to take control of my addiction, and I don't want it to be the other way around.

PS.: The Prodigy and the Screwdriver are both awesome to get closest satisfaction to an actual cig throat hit and harshness. I am hooked on the Prodigy b/c of all the adapters (btw, I am in no way associated with them except as a very satisfied customer).
