I've not used the automatic eGo, but I've not read great things about it.

Generally, I recommend manual batteries over automatic primarily because they are sealed, which enables dripping (either into attys or cartos) without removing the atty or carto from the battery. [e-liquid leaking into the battery can destroy it.]

As for the eGo cartomizer, I prefer the similar sized Echo-e or smok Tech eGo Mega Dual Coil. Actually, my favorite is the Smok Tech 1.7 ohm Mega Single Coil (e.g., from SmokTek or Crystal Clear Vaping), which is larger capacity than most cartos, but not as much as those others. It can be used with the eGo cone. What I love about it is the intense TH ... even on the low voltage eGo.

FYI: Liberty-Flights has an excellent price on the 650 mAh, 3.2V Joye eGo kit: $40 (after clicking on the "20% Discount" icon in the upper left of the screen) ... and an even better price on the eGo-compatible 750 mAh, 3.7V Riva-510: $30. [Note regarding compatibility: Some of the large eGo-sized cartomizers don't make a full connection on some batteries.]

BTW, I recommend the stainless steel eGo or Riva over the black color. The black coating on my eGos is peeling off, but the stainless steel (eGo and Riva) have no such coating and remain pristine.
