Hi everyone

Ive been vaping for 4 mos now. Gave up those stinkies at last. Anyway, i started vaping with my rx200 and isub tank then upgraded to rebuildable such as avocado 24 and tfv8. i learned to build my own coils without learning the ohms law. i built sub ohm builds reading around .15 to .21 most of the time since i've been vaping on a regulated mod. and now i got a new rx2/3. really handy for me.

And now, out of nowhere, i decided to get a an av vm mech mod clone on ebay. it says m1p5 style of some sort. with a battlec deck. it'll be delivered in 2 weeks time. now i'm getting anxious about safety issues like battery safety, ohms law, etc..
I've watched several videos on youtube and still, i dont get it.

Teach me masters. many thanks!!

Hi, here are is some reading to do.
If there is something you don't understand feel free to ask more questions. The last link is for steam-engine which is a one stop shop calculator for all things vaping. One of the main features I use is the ability to model a coil build before you even cut any wire.

Perfect. i'll take a look at those. thanks!

Speaking of batteries, since i started vaping, i only used the LG he4 18650. (since its the only quality battery that the shops have) are those safe for mech mods? i also looked at mooch's chart like image for batteries and it says that LG he4 has a 2500 mAh and 20 amp. (which i have no idea what those units are)

Anyway, i'll look on those links ASAP. Thanks again.

Read. Then ask :)

I just finished reading the ohms law for dumb noobs like me lol. i just have to make sure that my build wont require a lot of amps that will exceed the amps of my battery. my LG batt has a 20 amps, so it would be advisable for me to build .3 or .4 ohms just to give a little headroom. just to be sure, i will get a new pair of LG he4 and make sure that the voltage wont go lower than 3.6 to maintain its lifespan.

Am i right master? :)

oh really? thanks. i'll try to look for those. coz as far as i can see, most shops around our town only sells lg he4's. i know ebay has tons of those hg4 but i cant trust ebay. or fasttech as well. thanks. appreciate it!

That's a bit harsh. Some of us were buying genuine batteries from FT when UK shops were selling fakes.
How's that for logic.

Best advice I can give you, figure out the lowest you think you'll want to run your mech at. Lower the ohms, the higher the amps, then add around a 15% safety factor, and buy a battery with that amp rating.
Or, buy the Sony VCT5a's and build whatever you want without much fear.

apologies for that. i've edited my post. i didnt mean to offend anyone.
Not offended, just trying to keep the record straight.
Fasttech sell a vast amount of products. Many are copies/clones.
They also sell genuine (authentic items) but many Chinese vaping manufacturers like to paint the picture that they sell only fakes. It's a sort of price fixing.
FT can't afford to sell fake products as the real thing. Choose wisely and you can avoid pitfalls.

I use yellow LG4s, but I don't build low.
If you want to match the power you are used to, get the best batteries you can buy and keep an eye on the calculator.

Right. i'll take note of that. and
what do you mean by "add around a 15% safety factor"?

Wow. sony vct5a? are they really that good? i'll try to look for some of those too. some shops do sell samsung 25r's. are they fine?

I do use the yellow LG he4s. As they're the only ones available. what your lowest build though? i think a brand new one can handle a .3 right? i just have to make sure that its maintained properly.

I more or less make everything to 0.9-1.0 ohm. Double that on a dual coil and I might see 0.45, rarely lower.
I have used a factory 0.3 on a 2 x 18650 regulated mod. (so, not exactly power vaping)
Play with the math. Save your super-low for the Reuleaux. See if you like a 0.3 with a fresh battery.
Have fun! (Safely)... :)

Yea. i think .4 ohm. is safe for a brand new fully charged lg he4. so ive been really unsafe with my rx2/3 coz most of the time ive been vaping on .16 or .20. but i think its fine. i'm on dual or triple batt mode.

Any advise when it comes to charging? i only use a cheap efest soda dual bay charger. and there are times that i charge via usb which i know is not recommended.

Do you think it will be safe if i use an lg he4 on a mech with a .3 build? i'm having doubts. i havent fully understood ohms law yet.
