nice. which drip tip is that?

A fountain style drip tip that hit the ground too hard once.
With and without the top nib still attached.

Was a clean break oddly enough.
One of my fave tips now, nice feel to it's smallness..

Yes I have a drip tip addiction....

Try removing the O-rings and then shim it using one of my favorite products Teflon plumbers tape. Take a length of tape, enough to go around once and roll it. Place in the groove and then replace O-ring. It won't take much to build it up so you'll have to play around. I just replied on another thread how you can use it to plug up an air hole to lessen an airy draw.
That is a fantastic idea. The loose top cap has been my only problem with this atomizer in the couple days I've been using it. I was contemplating major surgery [a set screw opposite the air hole], but I'll definitely give this a shot first.

[Also, love the avatar. Abe brings back some great memories of playing Oddworld with my dad and laughing hysterically.]

Oddworld Is definitely one of my all-time favorite video games. I think I played it at least six times and just recently I found a copy that I was able to play on my Mac. I still laugh at the game and have a good time with it.

Playing video games help me quit smoking. Two years ago I was playing dead space 2 and didn't want to go outside in 20° weather to have a cigarette so I started using my ego and three hours later I realized I didn't want a cigarette. Just yesterday I finished playing dead space 3 still using my ego but the twist. Going to play a second time through while waiting for tomb raider. :D

Thanks for the heads up but I will hold out for one that matches my stainless egos, not a fan of chrome parts. I can
live with the chrome button collar on the ego only because I have no choice.

You may have a long wait... I've only seen them in chrome and/or black so far...

gadgetgirl...

You may want to reconsider this one until you have some experience in general... this is in the area ( on GV's website ) for advanced for a reason... I'll post the notice they have on all of their advanced rebuildables...

Important Note:

Please note very carefully that rebuildable atomizer coils and wicks have known risks.

Rebuildables are for experts, not average or beginner vapers with no multimeter or knowledge of how to use a meter, or when a meter must be used, or how electronic devices work. These materials cannot safely be used by the inexperienced or those without basic knowledge of electronics.

This is because:

1. A rebuildable coil/wick MUST be tested carefully with a meter before it is used.
2. If it is not tested it is entirely the risk of the user.
3. Faulty wicks/coils WILL blow electronic devices.
4. New coil/wick units must be tested and then used first on a strong basic electrical APV that has short circuit protection.
5. No new coil/wick assembly should be used on an electronic device until known to be safe.
6. These items destroy electronic devices if faulty. This is a known issue.

Having pointed that out so you aren't going into these blind...

Silica wicks and coils can last anywhere from a few weeks to months. They can be cleaned and reused many times before you have to replace them and of course you can rebuild your own...

I think it would be a good and inexpensive way to get into the more advanced area. All you need to do is buy the inexpensive resistance meter box and pre-made wick/coils for it. The $20 meter will tell you if you have a short and won't overwhelm you with other information you really won't need.

Then as you gain some knowledge you can decide if you want to go deeper into the world of making your own coils and wicks. The pre-made ones make it a lot easier for a novice to get started.

As long as you understand the risks and feel confident in your ability to learn how to so it, I say give it a try. Just do a little research into it, lots of great tutorial videos out in YouTube land.

Anyone made the air hole bigger in this yet? I noticed mine don't line up but also might need either a bigger one more another one.
You do realize the air hole is two channels drilled into the base of the main body, right? One straight down below the wick and the other from the side to meet in the middle. The hole in the cover merely lines up with it. Maybe you already have the capability, but you'd most likely need a drill press and precise measurements to come in from the other side and hopefully meet the vertical channel under the wick. If you're just talking about enlarging the hole in the cover, then disregard everything I just said. :)

Well now you have me thinking, and after poking around a bit I see that they don't actually meet each other directly the way I thought, and there might be some hallow space in there. Which would make it much easier to just drill a hole in from the side and have it routed straight to the wick. I might have to buy a few more of these and see if it works, either adding another close by or just enlarging it. Mine is aligned properly but I do find the draw a bit stiff. I might cut one in half to get a better idea of how this is built. I'll let you know what I find out.

Wow, little QC problem there I guess. *rolls eyes

Well at least it's aluminum and should be easy to drill one, lining it up will be the tough part. Or just return it, lol. Bummer.

ohhh, well--guess I'll see if my husband will drill a little hole in it, do you have any idea what size drill bit would be sufficient without making it too big--what do you mean by "lining it up"?

The smallest bit I have is 1/16". That would probably work but it's actually about one size smaller than that.

Assuming the hole in your base is in the same spot as mine, this might help. The hole is a tad higher than dead center of the bottom rib. If he drills it too high or low it won't line up with the hole in the base piece..

Edit: dead center would work, I can see by looking through mine that it's a little higher than the base piece's hole.
