SMOKtech Kick Clone Power Boost Regulator - 5W - 12W
$29.95

The SMOKtech Kick is Boosted Power Regulation in the form of a drop in module designed to be used in various tube devices with IMR batteries.
  • The Kick is designed to be used in 18650 sized metal tube devices (max 19.5 mm internal diameter) using an 18490 or 18500 IMR battery.
  • It can also be used in 18500 sized tube devices (max 19.5 mm internal diameter) with an IMR 18350 battery.

Unlike variable voltage, the Kick’s Power Regulation microprocessor will automatically, and constantly, adjust both the volts and amps levels (as needed) to provide consistent wattage (vaping heat) output. Once a user finds their preferred watts output, the Kick is more of a set it and forget it design. This is because the Kick will boost and regulate the power to provide the same watts output consistently from first activation to the last regardless of the atty/carto resistance.

INSTRUCTIONS:
  • Drop battery into tube
  • Using a small philips screw driver you can adjust from 5W to 12W. Wattage is clearly marked.
  • Place Kick atop the positive terminal of your IMR battery with the adjustment dial facing up.

Danno,

I am wondering if this new kick-like unit would work in a Maxi Rough Stack V.2 that I got (think I'm dyslexical this AM) a coupla years ago. It presently uses 18650, but with the new device you have there would it work and with which battery? Is there a 18500 batt.?

Thanks.

You would probably be best taking your question to the forum as GV doesn't sell the rough stack. In answer to your question about the batts...yes there is an 18500....

OK, I see the batteries.

Would it be possible to relate the dimensions of the Smoktech Kick Clone? Like the diameter would be about 18mm. What would the height be?

Just wondered if this is 33mhz PWM?
I doubt it. If this version is based on the original Kick, it doesn't use PWM. ...
I have a Kick and a Crown and neither are PWM. I also have Sigelei k clone it is PWM.

What method of voltage regulation are the Kick, the Crown using? (A boost and resistance circuit? I doubt it, but I don't know. My guess is they all use PWM.)

And what are the sources of your info?

I know the original kick uses boost, like the provari, right? & its just my personal opinion, but, smoktech has lost my trust.

Every VV and/or VW PV that doesn't use stacked batteries uses a boost circuit. How else could it put out more than the 4.2-3.2 volt battery output.

After boosting the voltage, it then steps down the voltage using either an inefficient resistance circuit (pretty outdated for a PV) or PWM. All of the Kicks, as well as the Provari use PWM.

Here is some good quick reading: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ion-pulse-modulation-thing-2.html#post6736799

I can test the Kick and Crown on my screw on volt meter. The meter will read the voltage output. The Sigelei just pulses the meter no readings.

That has everything to do with output filtering and PWM frequencies and nothing to do with whether a circuit is using PWM.

Does this kick have a short circuit protection built in? If my clearomizer has a short, will this kick protect my device in any way?
