Clones devices I have look exactly like the authentic so much you can’t really tell the difference. IMO I care too much for my hand and face to buy cells off eBay that “may or may not” be authentic. I wouldn’t take that chance and just pay the extra $ on ones from a reputable vendor for authentic cells. It’s a lot cheaper than plastic surgery to make my face and hand look better after an explosion or at least a vent if your lucky.

Mods are ok off eBay, don’t trust cell purchases on eBay.

Keep us in the loop and post a pic when you get them. I searched the whole internet last night. Checked the thread on fake AW batteries first.
After looking at all the cheap ones, ended up buying at RTD for 9.18 each. Didn’t trust the others.

Batteries are the very last place to try to save money on anything vaping related.
They are the very most important part of vaping safely.

You mean the picture he used in the add looks legit...

The very first clue is the price, this eBay seller is selling cells for less than what an authorized dealer could buy them in bulk for wholesale direct from AW.... seems legit. not.

Alibaba is filled with hundreds of thousands of fake AW cells.

The only way a normal vaper can ensure the cells they get are authentic is to buy from reputable sources, a guy selling batteries on eBay for less than they cost wholesale is not a reputable source.

This is where I buy all my cells ---> AW Batteries

A guy has aw imr 18490 batteries on ebay.
2 for $6 total !
I bought 4 and he has 10 left.

Maybe you'll be lucky. But I seriously doubt it. For your safety, I recommend that, in the future, you buy your batteries from reputable vendors like RTD Vapor, Orbtronic or Illumination Supply.

@Terry Koontz - you are well on your way to having perhaps the wackiest patchwork setup on EC-F, and these batteries are the cherry on top. :p

Very possible this is some dealer with a bunch of 18500's from a few years back that he couldn't ditch. Could be a quality guy. I hope. Ill advised on this one, brother, but you keep doing you.

I’m retired and on a fixed income.
I pretty much buy everything at a discount.

Yep, no judgment from me, ten cents or a million bucks, if it vapes and keeps you off the smokes, it's dynamite. Just know that your vape journey is quite unorthodox and I've enjoyed watching it all come together for you greatly. :toast:

Terry, you can buy almost anything at a discount and be safe at the same time. There's no reason to jeopardize your safety to save a buck.

Do not buy a ProVari--just for starters. ;)

Look for sales (especially around holidays). Watch this thread:

Deals and Steals

Look for deals before you buy:

Vapecrawler

Check out Fasttech and 3FVape--they are in China, but they offer solid wares and the shipping is free (I think it's 15 bucks min. purchase at 3FVape). Look for products marked as "authentic."

Want authentic AW IMR 18500/18490 batteries, do yourself a decent service and get them from RTDVapor, Ebay and Amazon way to easy for a vendor to slip through a fake or clone.

The savings you are gaining here are so minimal. You can buy decent batteries for $5 each from a reputable vendor. This is just looking for trouble, the batteries are probably seconds, inauthentics that look like authentics, and/or some type of rewrap. I don't buy equipment of ebay and batteries would be the LAST thing I'd buy. You may be retired on a fixed income, but have you considered what it costs to reconstruct a hand or face? Especially on Medicare?

Well best of luck to you, as you quite often do not heed advice from more seasoned members who want to look out for you, but that seems to be impossible in your case.... so, I'll just say good luck. Hope you enjoy them, and I also hope that when you are unable to figure out if they are fakes or not (if you even try) that anything bad that happens will be while the mod is not near your person.

I guess it would be boring here if everyone used Lipos.

That’s all I use now. I got tired of charging 18650’s. I used to build unregulated and mech mods and used a quad 18650 mech and I would go through 8 cells during the day. If I had to run around after work I would have to carry an extra set of 4 cells so I was going through 8-12 cells in a day and taking all evening to charge. Now I’m building lipo mods and I can charge my 2800mAh 4s or 4000mAh 3s in an hour and run 2-3 days on a single charge vaping at 9-11.5 on anywhere from a .3-.8 coils. I will never go back to 18650’s besides using them for my CM 521 tabs or in an unregulated mod for tasting DIY juices.
