Hey everybody. My new TS has become my at home device. I got a few aw imr batts fresh from COV at the same time my GGTS came in. So, I charged my 18490 once and set it up cuz I like the size of it and came home to my new baby. Set my Ody back on top of her and all of a sudden I hear a weird sizzle or kind of a crackle. My GGTS won't fire. I took the bottom cap off and the spring had collapsed half way and the battery had marks on the negative side. Any idea what I did wrong or do you guys think it's just a bad battery? I need to get a new battery spring and another battery but I am not excited about getting more if it's user error. Lol more than likely is

Spring do u have any other mod where you can test your batt? It seems that you had a short or something, coz ur hot spring broke, did you test your odys ohms?

I left my multimeter at home :-( and all I have is a p+18350. I flipped my spring over and I stuck in one of my 18350's and she is working great right now. My Ody's ohms are 1.5 right now

this just in. it collapsed using the 18350 and the tube got really hot. Think its because i am using adapters to get my ody on my GGTS?

I had the very same thing happen when I got my iAtty, and I'm almost positive it was the adapter that caused the short. I chucked the adapter and haven't had the problem since. Fwiw, I was also using two
adapters, and the shortie had silicon that surrounded the middle part popping out. I wish I still had it as I would post a pic of it.

Good lookin out Cazmo. I am using rethreader, 901-510 and 510-510 shortie sealed with silicon. This HAS to be it since i took the spring out and top cap and am rocking it without fail now that i read your message. Thanks for confirming all!

Glad you figured it out. Sounds like the silicone was getting compressed enough to cause a short.

Try all metal adapters and you should be trouble free. The combo that I'm using for Penelope's is all metal and hassle free. Granted it will make positive pin stick out a bit further but it won't give you any problems.

I'd like to try these. Got a link to the all metal adapters? Been searching my normal suppliers, and not enough of a description to determine all metal, or silicon filled.

Yea, read here.

They can be purchased anywhere but since I posted that on the CoV forum I provided links for their site. The pin will stick out a bit more out of the back.

If you need it shorter use re-threader that came with device + 901 Battery to 808-D Atomizer adapter + the 901 - 501 in my thread.

Both of the above options make the connection at the top of the GGTS flush with the top cap. I do believe the second option that uses the re-threader makes the GGTS 7-8mm shorter because more pin is used to go up through the re-threader therefore the positive battery connection sits higher up. Just depends if you care about the 7-8mm of body length in your GGTS.

All credit goes to Ariel_MX as mentioned. His post was the reason I knew which adapters to buy. Also have his site with pictures linked.

Edit: Forgot link...duh. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/clouds-vapor/323962-ggts-penelope-odysseus-adapters.html

I had the exact same thing happen using adapters in my GGTS. I suspect that what happened was you screwed the Ody's rebuildable part all the way in, then screwed the Ody all the way down as well. The Ody's center pin will push too hard on the adapters IF you screw the rebuildable part totally in, enough to move the silicon isolators just enough to create a short. The rebuildable part is meant to be screwed in only far enough for the center pin to make contact. When you reassemble your Ody, assemble it while it's attached to the collector tank (disconnected from the GGTS) and that will help you know how far down to screw the rebuildable part.

Honestly that's exactly what happened. Took the top cap off my GGTS and now I am only using 1 all metal adaptor and getting air control. Working well now. Just don't wanna fuss with something like that damn adaptor again. The Ody base will become available again and once it does no more worries ;-)
