I just wish I would have found you before we bought our e-cigs! LOL

Many thanks to Spikey and Scott for their awesome videos and to everyone else who posts such great stuff here!

My name is Kristin. My husband and I saw a booth at our state fair on Saturday and tried an e-cig for the first time. We immediately bought two starter kits and extra carts! Wow!

So, of course, once I got back home, I had to look up everything I can about our new "toys" on the web. Immediately, I realize I've made a truely newb move and can't figure out what model I even have. I now know I'll need to order more atomizers (is it attey or attie?) batteries and smoke juice and the web site for my brand doesn't carry those!

Then, I found out the FDA is trying to ban these wonderful contraptions!?! I've already signed the petition against it to the FHA! What idiots.

So, has anyone heard of "OMG SmokeFree" brand? The most I can find out is it's made by OMG International LLC (which I can't find any info on Google - but try googling "OMG" - you can imagine the results! LOL) and their web site sucks (reordersmokefree.com) After looking at the thread with the pictures, I think it's most similar to the Vapor King or a m403? It has 3 parts - battery/atomizer/cart - and the refills come in little 5 piece foil packages (like Dentyne gum). It looks like a real cigarette, with a brown cart, white battery with lines and a gold band in between, with gold "OMG" and a little gold crest printed on the battery. A search of OMG International/OMG/Smokefree turned up nothing on these forums. Does anyone know what I have? I'd like to be able to find atomizers and batteries and different carts that fit, since the distributer doesn't offer them. I could post a pic if that helps.

So far, I've been pretty happy with the performance. I WAS a 1/2 pack smoker, so I'm a lightweight, so the vapor and throat hit are fine. I don't need to upgrade yet - I want to get as much use out of the $200 we spent (combined with extra carts). After reading these forums, I think I'll eventually want to get a 501 or 901 manual switch - and something with a blue LED, to not be mistaken for a real cigarette.

Anyhow, it's great to have found you all - I'm glad to be a newb in the vaping community and look forward to getting to know you!

Check out the site a little bit, do some reading on the different models, and find out which places are reliable places to order from. This place is a very lovely place, full of very lovely people. So much helpful stuff in here that it is amazing.

I got the 510 in black with the blue light, since I didn't want it to be mistaken for a real cig as well. :)

If you can put it together and measure it in millimeters you can confirm what it is.
Or at least what it is not, by going to this website: E-Cigarette Models

Determining whether it is a recessed or an exposed atomizer will also help.

And posting pictures might help if there is still confusion after all that.
:)

I think Lots of us made Noob mistakes, my self included. Just suck it up and use it until it dies, forget about extra parts etc, buy a known brand. Lots of people like different things, but I would say a manual 901 or 510. Of the 6 or so I have tried, I would pick one of them. Order before the ones you have go south, don't want to go back to analogs. Hope this helps.

Hi All - thanks for the replies!

Yes, I've been checking out the site for a couple of days now. I can tell it's got some great members! Unfortunately, been unable to find reference to my model. I think I'll take Burnie's advice and just order a known brand and chalk up my OMG e-cig as a learning experience. Since it seems you completely replace the unit every few months by replacing parts anyhow, it's a wash. Thanks for the link, Deadcat2!

Damn if your name wasn't Kristin I would of swore you were my friend that I met in my MCAT class last summer. Anyhow, the model you described sounds like the RN4081. I have 4 of those now. I bought 2 for $46.00 from The Indoor Cigarette Home Page, but I would highly suggest the Joye 510 from Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail or Heaven-gifts.com Ruyandirect.com Best E-smoking Shop.

If you have the RN4081, your atomizers will last a really long time if you use it properly. Me and Jim Davis on here are both advocates of it. You can also check out Home Page and Rocky Mountain Vapor you have reached the mountain top of electronic cigarettes! : Home also as they offer FREE shipment for amounts over $20 and $14 respectively.

And Welcome to ECF!!

Can I ask - where did you get your 501? Someone you were happy with - customer service, shipping, quality, etc? I'm looking to buy now - hopefully a good price. I think I want a starter + PCC + pass thru + juice.

The only thing is it sounds a little big/long to me. Is it awkward to hold? I don't think I could handle one of those really big pen styles or mods!

Hey Prototype - thanks for the tips & the welcome! Yeah, I seem to have one of those faces that a lot of people swear they've met me, lol!

I was thinking it may be the RN 4081, but I couldn't be sure - hate to order for it and they don't fit! I've been fairly happy so far, except that the carts have irregular time lengths - I'm a light smoker but some seem to die after a few puffs and others last a decent time.

The carts are different than I've seen on the forums. They do have the hole at the end and you can push it out with a paperclip, like on the tutorial videos, but there seems to be a piece of plastic and some kind of foil that sits between the filler and the atomizer. Are these disposable carts and not meant to be refilled?

I'm seriously considering the 501, but it's a little longer than I think I want. Maybe I'd get used to it? So many high marks for it on the forums!

Thanks for the links!

I have no idea about anything regarding a foil.

And the Joye 510 is not that long. Trust me, you will get used to it in matter of seconds (maybe minutes). Not a long learning curve at all. It's most likely what you will like and enjoy.

I hope someone else can comment on this foil you are talking about.

But the websites I listed in the above post are places I would recommend.
