Awesome PVs other than the Provari

I'm not a noob to vaping but i'm wondering has anyone had flawless (or close to) performance with any other PVs (non mechanical) besides the Provari that they would recommend?

Price is not an issue, I don't mind spending more for quality after my recent purchases. About a month or so ago I purchased a smoktech zmax and i'm having ridiculous problems with the button. It doesn't feel broken or anything. It just seems to not be making good contact unless pressed down very firmly and will often stop firing in the middle of my draw.

Overall, something sturdy and reliable, and something that won't tarnish or look like crap after a few months.

I have friends that swear by the Provari. I've used it and it seems like an awesome device. But I just want to know if there are any other gems out there before I purchase a pricey device.

Here's a couple.

Budget Vape: MVP 2 Best bang for your buck IMHO. Everyone should have at least one.

Mid Level: Semovar by SvoeMestro. High quality great build but a little tough to find in the wild on this side of the pond. Protovapor XPV...They are made by some new modders that hail from Hawaii. This is probably one of the least expensive DNA 20 or DNA 30 chipsets you'll find but they already have quite a following. They also look to have a real high quality build as well. (www.protovapor.com)

High End: ZNA DNA 30, by Zen. One Beastly build very Unique. HanaModz is another one people are looking at.

I have two Sigelei Zmax Telescopic V3s and think they are awesome. I walk into the den first thing in the morning to grab one. I see them standing on the desk gleaming in stainless steel armor in the dawn's early light, ready for action. I am awestruck, unable to to take a step closer to their shape-shifting variable wattage goodness. I shake it off, telling myself it's only an advanced e-cig that has served me faithfully for eleven months and it's not an idol, icon, grail or anything. One quick grab and the Sigelei is in my pocket.

Then I hear the door bell. This early in the morning? I walk to the front door, throw the dead bolt and there are two young men dressed in black suits and white shirts. They have pulp paper pamphlets in one hand and Provaris in another.

It's going to be one of those days.

That is hilarious. I have a Zmax V3 and I like it as well, but I wonder how many people had to destroy their V3's before we got the scoop on what the proper battery tube adjustment is. I know if it wasn't for the sacrifice of other former Sigelei owners, I would have easily trashed mine by "snugging it up".

And if I don't tighten it enough, I get inconsistent hits. Telescoping does require a bit of a research unless you just use it in 18350 mode or buy a mini....

Where to find New Modders from Hawaii? Google is not friendly on such a search.

Have a look at the Dicodes Dani: Greek Mods - Dicodes Dani L "Extreme" Orange.

You'll have to get it in a private sale, as the vendors don't directly ship to the US, but they call it the Provari Killer in Europe. The build quality looks sick, and what few reviews are out there all say good things. Plus, it goes up to 20 watts and can fire down to a 0.7 ohm coil :)

I've been looking at the vamo. Heard lots of good and bad things about them. Even some people saying they get some of the finish on their hands from opening the box. I was thinking about purchasing one but the price is a little suspect. It is only 50 or so dollars for the v5, but still, if it went bad that's another 50 that could have gone to something else. And I didn't think the v5 was real stainless I thought it was just a coating?

Here's my problem with the Vamo, Sigelei (and I have one), Sid, etc....

They are imposters. Now before everyone gets their panties in a knot, let me explain.

On one hand you have something like the MVP. It has a non user replaceable battery. They are built well enough to last through the lifespan of the battery, and then they are designed to be thrown away. You have no expectations of the longevity of the device. So when you put down your $40 - $60 for one, you know you will be throwing it away in a year and if you get more out of it, it's frosting on the cake.

On the other hand you have the ProVari. It's 4 times more expensive than the MVP but you know it will last. It comes with a 1 year warranty and you can buy a second year for $25.00 at time of purchase, which is a sucker bet. They are built to last, and they are priced accordingly.

The Vamo, Sigelei and similar mods "fool" you with their Stainless Steel tube that the mod is built to last. However, they put substandard 510 connectors on them (Vamo), have control board mounting issues (Sigelei) or the button fails.... So what you get is a Mod that may last a year, but due to it's appearance and construction you expect it to last longer.

Now there are a whole new class of ProVari "class" devices which are competing in it's price space. If these devices have ProVari build quality is something that will need to be proven in the field.

But if you are going down to the sub $100 category, then I have to mention the MVP2. It's got a great feature set and price, and at least you know going in you will need to replace it eventually.

I have a Sigelei V3 and I use it to help build coils and to occasionally to switch out the look on MVP's. But I bought my Sigelei at a deep discount. And I have no expectation of it lasting....

I've been really happy with the Innokin SVD. Some people have reported issues with the fire button, but my first one has been going strong for close to nine months. My second one (which I sold to a friend as I don't need a vv/vw backup) worked equally flawlessly, albeit it's only two months old. I mostly use mech mods at the moment, but that's not due to any dissatisfaction with the SVD.
