I wouldn't look at it as starting all over again. I would think of it as "only three cigarettes in seven months and twenty-four days". I mean, seriously, before you started vaping, you would have three cigs in what--an hour or two? And now only three cigs in almost eight months? That's outstanding and you should be very proud.
You could change your sig line to "Seven months and twenty-five days since I've ENJOYED a cigarette." if you don't want to start the count all over again.
I think we ex-smokers are too hard on ourselves anyway. If a person goes on a diet and loses fifty pounds, then slips and eats three chocolate chip cookies before going on to lose five more pounds, they don't start the count over and tell people they've lost five pounds. They tell people they've lost fifty-five pounds. You may have slipped and had a couple of cigs, but it's still been seven months and twenty-four days since you were a smoker. Now you are a vaper who tried a couple of cigs and reminded yourself why you aren't a smoker anymore and haven't been one for almost eight months.
