So I had a bit of a relapse with cigarettes about a week and a half ago. I had been about 2 weeks without them, but
I gave in to the craving :( ... I'm still determined to quit, that's why I'm back on this site. Its comforting knowing I'm not alone and everyone here has my back, no matter how many times I fail.

So my first week without the cancer sticks was nerve racking. I would have cracked even earlier if I hadn't been bumming a few from coworkers here and there. But as long as I wasn't buying my own pack I felt I was beating the habit.

At the start the 2cnd week I was feeling confident so I kept the same strategy. Only problem was, I don't work the weekends! So there I was on a Saturday night enjoying a beer and watching some t.v when I got the urge for an analog. My e-cig wouldn't cut it. After puffing on it the whole I day I still felt the need to smoke a real cig.

About an hour later, I caught myself at the nearest convenience store buying a fresh pack of analogs :(... Although it could have been the beer that triggered the urge, it was just to hard to fight. I don't know easy it can be to quit drinking but letting go of the cigarette habit is hard enough.

So now I'm back to smoking close to a pack a day...Again.
Im still determined to quit, thats why I'm back on the site.

Any support, feedback, or suggestions are always appreciated. Thanks for reading guys

take it one day at a time, most of us didnt quit analogs and start vaping exclusively immediately, for me it took 3 weeks or so, slowly decreasing my analogs and increasing my vaping, also i started at 36mg nic. one day, i just woke up and didnt want to run outside and fire one up, the craving just wasnt there.

we are all definitely something of a support group as well as an ecig community.

Hi Jerry,

First off realize many people still smoke while vaping, so you are not alone. If you really want to give them up all together, then maybe try upping your nic level at least for when you are really craving a smoke.

Also some have very good luck with the WTA juices. So that might be something for you to check into.

And make sure you are drinking enough water too, that will effect your experience.

Keep on trying. You'll get there. Just keep on vaping as much as you can even if you smoke in between.

Drinking or really any kind of getting high so close to switching makes it that much more difficult.

Not sure what you are using for a PV but hotter vape and stronger juice (possibly even WTA - see aromaejuice.com) might make a huge difference in your satisfaction.

Stay strong. IMO the ones who go back to analogs just never found there goto vape juice or the right equipment. Some of us like myself got lucky from the get and got what works best for them.

I'm sure if I hadn't had got lucky I would still be sneaking analogs too. I would up the nic strength, but it may be your equipment too. I use a kgo 1100mah with ce3 xl bottom coils. My juice is 18mg now, but was 24mg. I like Gandalf and Boba's. Not too much into the fruity flavors. Granted I vape around 6ml a day but honestly I wouldn't care how much juice I'm vaping as long as it keeps me off analogs.

Like others have mentioned maybe WTA juice is for you. In any case keep trying and stay strong.

The first 2 weeks, vape a ton, then vape some more, dont have a nic craning so what vape some more. My first two weeks I would keep vaping until I started to get a nic headache. Keep at it you will get there. It took me a month to be able to smell cig smoke and not want one, but to me now cigs smell like crap. I took a drag of one over the weekend while drunk .... it tasted like crap, but I confirmed I have no desire to smoke a cig.

As well as upping the nicotine, you should also consider something with allot of PG (minimum 70%PG) to feel the TH when you are tipsy. Don't go for thick juices because they will kill the TH and you want that especially since you are starting off and partially numbed by the alcohol in your particular situation.

Once you manage to last a night without an analoge at a bar, you should be good to go else where. It is soo much worth it trust me.

Many people need a harder kick from the electronic cigarette when drinking.
:)

There are many ways to do that, and here are some I've seen over the years...
--Raise the nicotine level when drinking
--Use a higher voltage when drinking
--Use a good strong tobacco flavor
--Use more PG and less VG when drinking

Yeah man I had the same problems. here is how i got over it and now when I do take a drag off an analog I feel sick.

- higher nicotine juice when you drink (still do it to this day)
- I got some WTA with higher nic levels to add to my juices
- get juices with menthol or get some menthol drops to add to your juices (increases TH)
- PG juices help with TH but provide less vapor ( i like the more vapor from VG)
- A PV that can hold a charge and supply enough room for the juice for the whole night.

I have a vapage mod that I keep my regular juice in and then I can drip the stronger stuff when I need it. if later (drunk) i will switch to a bottle of the pure stronger juice so I can keep drinkin while I vape into bliss.

Hope this helps dude!!!

It is tough quitting analogs cold turkey, even if you are still doing e-cigs. Just to decrease withdrawal symptoms, you may want to smoke a few every so often, then purposively go back to e-cigs. Eventually, you will not want the analogs and the e-cigs will be 'enough' to satisfy you. You also may want to order multiple vapor flavors from multiple companies until you find your favorites. If you do not have favorite vape flavors yet, the analogs will seem more appealing.

Hang in there, I totally understand. I'm new at this and have had some slips, but the more I have gotten into vaping, the easier it is getting. Honestly, for me it doesn't seem to just be about the nicotine. Sometimes I will loaded on the nic and my phone will ring, or I will see a friend, or whatever, and I will still want a smoke. Eh, I smoked for over 20 years and I knew it was going to be hard.

Great spot on advice, one more possible bullet point that worked for me

--Get some strong menthol juice, and some pure menthol drops to boost it if necessary.
(never smoked menthol, but the cool TH helped me a lot)

You know thats true, I never was a menthol smoker but I do actually like puffing on a menthol cartridge every now and then.

Thanks for the support guys. I gotta give this another shot.

Good luck JerryA!

I don't have a lot of advice to give aside from try different things. Different set ups, flavors, strengths. It's a lot easier to buy a pack of cigarettes, but it's much more gratifying to find that perfect vape.

Also just because you have one cigarette doesn't mean you've fallen back to depend on analogs. Just imagine all of the analogs you've avoided through your e-cig!
