A company I sometimes do things for decided I need to spend a week there so I'll be up on what they're doing (which doesn't make a lot of sense to me since I rarely know what I'm doing).

I've done these stints in the past, and they usually turn into 12 hour days, their cafeteria is lousy, and it's about an hour's drive each way. As if that isn't bad enough, I can't vape there.

So it's back to cigs and the lovely smell of phosphor matches.

Why couldn't I have been born rich instead of so incredibly handsome? Oh, wait, I'm not that, either.

ARRRRGGGH!

I cold easily do without the nic. It's the ritual of smoking which I can't get past. I need that moment of taking a deep draw, whether on cig or PV, to clear my mind and recenter my thoughts. Nothing else works so well.

But I have to admit it's not all bad -- for some arcane reason, the cigs out of the machine there are tax-free, so I'm smoking B&H for less than the cost of Doral.

If it was only nic, I'd have quit smoking decades ago.

The clear mind you feel is the nicotine. Otherwise sitting down and chewing gum for 5 minutes would have the same effect (which it does not).

Well, at least you know the health disadvantages of real smoking will be temporary. One week and then your body will clear itself again when your able to go back to vaping.

I never quit cigarettes completely because of the places I can smoke and not vape (besides work places, I like to take long (2-3 hour) baths, and while dropping an occasional cig into the water is no problem, I wouldn't want to ruin an expensive batt), but it's down to about a pack a week.

It's been interesting because I find myself missing vaping during the day more than I ever missed cigarettes.

Maybe I need to update the old saw -- it's now: Vaping will get me through times of no cigarettes better than cigarettes get me through times of no vaping.
