Hey everyone,

I've been vaping for quite a while. Have had everything from 18650 mods to pens. Currently running a Novo 3 with a .8 ohm mesh coil. Bought a few gallons of Nic with tobacco flavoring a long time ago and starting to run out. Getting pretty bored with mindlessly filling up the vape with the tobacco flavor I've been using forever and want to get into some flavors.

vaping preferences:
1. Desserts - Love desserts (pies, apple pie and brown sugar sounds legit)
2. Drinks - chocolate, mocha, latte, coffee, milkshake, etc.
3. Classics - anything fruity (strawberry and milk, blueberry and milk, etc.)

Have a few questions to help me get back into DIY. Also happy to just jam out and talk to anyone about vaping.

1. Where is everyone getting supplies these days. I used to order Nic from Nic River or Nude Nicotine. It's been a while.. Are these sites still legit, are their better/ cheaper ways to grab a gallon of nic? Nic River is about $150 (reg) -$200 (salt-nic) a gallon.

2. Flavors
a. What are some good starter flavors that can make some one-offs and a ton of recipes?
b. Seems like the major sources like Capella are into wholesale now and $50-$100 isn't going very far. Especially after I factor in Nic, PG, VG and Bottles. Are there better suppliers that everyone is using that I don't know?
c. Any good starter kits out there for flavoring?
d. Finally, is it even worth making my own flavors? To go the flavor route I need unflavored nic, pg, vg, bottles (several sizes), scale, and a bunch of flavors. This might cost cost $150-$300. I always see a bunch on sale for $5-$10 on various websites.. clearance etc.. Should I just buy a bunch of pro made flavors and skip all the supplies, nic, bottles, etc? This is a serious question as I haven't done the math on this.

3. Suppliers = Looks like Amazon sells PG and VG for about 20$ a gallon each. Is this my best bet?

Final note: I have no problem spending around $50-$100 on flavorings, but only if it's worth it. Got a few hundred to spend on nic and supplies as well.

Thanks everyone for reading and engaging in this overly long post! Great to meet everyone!

Hello @mcpdev and welcome to ECF. :)

Here is a comprehensive listing of vendors still selling nicotine:

Here is a listing of PG and VG suppliers in the US:

Here is a lengthy listing of online stores to purchase flavors from:

Most USA based ECF members purchase flavors from Bull City Flavors and some of the others from the page I linked. At Bull City Flavors use code ECF6 for 6% off each order. A 10ml bottle of Capella flavoring can be purchased for under two dollars.

Flavors are highly subjective. Everyone has their likes and dislikes.

Answer for yourself - - - What Kinds of Flavors Do You Enjoy??? ------> Make a list and purchase those. You started a list with your preferences in your post. Expand on that.

Avoid starter kits, no matter what anyone tells you, or you may read on various DIY websites, starter kits are a Complete and Total Waste of Money.

Once you are past the initial DIY investment making juice is dirt cheap compared to purchasing retail juices. I suspect you already know that.

Good luck!!!

On the nicotine, there is a online place I often order from and you can get both large and small volumes of liquid Nicotine and get it at various concentrations..... They are called Nicotine Giant and if I remember correctly they are located in South Carolina or around there somewhere. They ship out very quickly.... I have placed orders and they were shipped out the very next day with no wait time. The Nicotine was good as well. Too many bulk suppliers only sell Nicotine in huge volumes (like gallons or even barrels) and it makes it difficult for people who are only needing small amounts. You can get small 120ml bottles of nicotine at Nicotine Giant or you can order gallons or even barrels of the stuff.

Like the air-head that I am, I forgot to mention another good online supplier for nicotine.... They sell liquid nicotine at only 100mg strength but they sell in small quantities..... They sell 4 sizes for distrubution. You can purchase small 50ml bottles, 120ml bottles, 250ml bottles, or 1,000ml bottles.... They are called Central Vapors out of Texas and they are a good Company. I order lots of vape mods, nicotine and flavorings from them...... However, a word of warning.... They are very slow at fulfilling orders. So, it may take awhile after you order something for it to get shipped...

@ShowMeTwice Thank you for the huge wealth of information!! Had no idea about BullCity and the discount code. Got about $120 in there now that I'm shuffling around... decisions

@AXIOM_1 You have been super helpful!! Nic Giant seems legit. Pretty fair prices as well. Found Nic, PG and VG all together for around $200 with shipping. Not sure if they send here to Cali but I sent them a message to find out. Going to checkout Central Vapors next.. just a bit worried about the lag time you mentioned.

Thanks everyone for the nice welcome and tons of help!

You will discover that Central vapors has the best price for Nicotine than anyone. It's about 1/2 the price of what most distributors charge. Same goes with their flavorings, as well as their mods and atty's....... They have really good customer service as well....... But, they are on the slow side for some reason...... I get most of all my vape stuff from them..........

Welcome to ECF, mcpdev. $200 for nic, PG & VG? The prices of such has probably come up a bit, a few of a few years ago politicians were trying to put a HUGE tax on nicotine. I don't think the mission was accomplished though.

Things have definitely gone up. The taxes and shipping here to Cali have become so ridiculous that sometimes the price doubles by time everything is shipped out.

Still waiting on the price update (if I ever get one from nic giant). It might not be worth it for Cali.
Nic River jumped from $165 to about 385 after fees and shipping to Cali. Probably just going to pull the trigger with central vapors.

Thanks @AXIOM_1 Just pulled the trigger at central vapors. Got a few concentrates to try out as well with the new setup.
Never tried the concentrates but I here good things and will hold me over until I make some final decisions on Bull City

You're welcome! Central Vapors has the best customer service of any business I have ever dealt with.... There have been a couple of times where they messed my order up and I simply sent them an email that is listed on their web site and they corrected the problem immediately (the same day)..... Plus as you have probably noticed, you can't beat their prices.... I order all my nicotine through them because it is far less expensive than any place I have seen online, plus the nicotine is very good, I have not tried any of their commercial juices but I do order their flavor concentrates since I make my own juice.... Their concentrates are very good as well. Plus, most of my recent mods and atty's have come from them. Let me know how your order goes and what you think of them....

I have a 100 miggle liter of nic that I bought in Nov. 2018 in my fridge. I can mix that down to 4 25 miggle liters, if I mixed down the whole thing in one session. Those 4 liters would get me through about 2 1/2 - 3 years, each. There is a bit more than 3/4's left in the 100 bottle that I paid about $50 for, with the shipping fee..
