This is the third time I an writing this as previous two disappeared.

Hi All,

I am coming back to vaping after 5 years. I purchased all those years ago a TWS510 which is essentially a Joye 510. TW no longer supply spares. I would like to know the following if possible.

1. Can I get spares if so, where from?
2. Can I mod to use a tank (not a great fan of cartridges, bad taste etc), if not, can you recommend a tank e-cig starter kit at reasonable cost.
3. Cartridge, cartomiser or tank, which is better and why?

Thanks

Welcome back :)

I can't help with the first 2 questions.

The third, well it really is up to the individual and you will get multiple reasons. Cartridges? They really shouldn't be selling them anymore. They just plain suck.
Cartomisers? I don't have any experience with those so can't help there.
Tanks? There are so many out there, it's tough to nail down just one. You have the plug and play type that all you have to do is replace the head when it needs it and just keep on vaping. Then you have the ones that you rebuild your own coil and rewick yourself. They last longer but you do need to know how to build your own coils.

Hopefully others will be by to give you information overload :D

I tried vaping back then and gave up after a few months. Got tired of blue foam, leaks, constant refilling or carrying spare bits.

Last winter my wife got a starter kit with an ego battery and a bottom coil clearomiser. I couldn't believe how far vaping had evolved. Now I have variable watt and volt tube devices and box devices and different tanks and drippers. Your head will spin. I suggest finding a local shop and hope they know what they are doing and read up here on the latest.

Welcome back.

Thanks for your replies...My head is already spinning, there are so so many more things available now then back then.

I was looking at getting a Nautilus Mini, would this be a fairly good start for a born again vaper, can I use any batter with these?

Yes, just about. The Nautilus only has 510 thread but comes with a 'beauty ring' so it will sit on an ego battery without looking too obnoxious.

Welcome back Malik..

Joe Chemo *snicker* that's great btw! he's not wrong..of all the "eGo" type batteries, the Aspire carbon fibre vv ones are our best, Ed's got two, better than the innokin vv, vision spinners, eGo T's that we have when we begun.

so one of those with two/or one of each to see what you like, mini Nautilus or a Kanger V2 (revised aerotank) or an iStick and call it a day.

Shows the comparison between an eGo threading and 510 threading.

Welcome back mmalik!

The Kanger Mini Protank 3 is an "eGo" threaded tank. The "510" drip tip refers to the mouthpiece and that it's interchangeable.

eGo threads are "male" on the battery. Some batteries have dual eGo/510 threaded (I know, what up with "510" being both a mouthpiece and battery threading?) which allow for different types of toppers. The 510 threading on the battery is a female receptacle.

The Kanger Mini tanks are eGo threaded; the full-sized PT 2/PT 3 are 510 threaded. The PT2 and mini PT2 take bottom single coils. The PT3/mini PT3 take bottom dual coils.

Take a look at the pictures on this site: Mini Kanger Protank 3 Mini Pro Tank Glassomizer Gives a nice representation of the mini PT3 tank and the threading as it will mate with the battery.

Cheers!

Congratulations! I have only completely given up cigarettes for the last couple of months but have been trying different e-cigarettes for about 6 months.
The Nautilus mini is by far my favorite! I am going to follow up with the Aspire K1 and the Kanger Aero Tank as cheaper alternatives with good results.
For a battery the IStick is fantastic for the size, power and with the Naut produces the perfect results (for me of course). I also have Vision Spinner 2s, and they work, but the battery life is much shorter and it is a lot longer than I like.
