I'm back to vaping after 2.5 years away. Everything is new again and new terminology I don't know. How fast things change.
I bought an eleaf setup and I hate it. It runs really hot and everything tastes slightly burned. Plus it only lasts me for a few hours. I like the ease of drawing on it though.
I pulled out my old ego with a protank 2 mini on it. I like it better in a lot of ways and have been chain vaping on it more than the other but I'm going through a coil every 2 days. It gets clogged up and it's a pain to draw on.
What are my options between the two these days where I get easy to draw on less coil usage good flavor but not so damn hot?

Welcome back! Yeah, stuff has changed a LOT over the past few years  So, regarding the eleaf - which one? what topper? what coil resistance? what power are you running the topper at? You might be o.k. just turning things down - just because a mod can run 60/75/100W doesn't mean you *have* to....

I have a bunch of different devices and toppers. I love the istick Pico, but I never take it above 30W (I don't take many of my toppers above 30-40W, even though my gear can handle it.) I don't like excessively warm vapes.

Protank 2 Mini - GREAT little topper, but gunking is probably due to the juice - sweeter/higher VG juices could cause the "gunkiness" Dark flavors - that will also gunk a coil. Chain vaping - those PT2 heads don't do super well with high/long-term heat....

I like the eGo ONE toppers - replaceable coils or rebuildable - if you're into that. Decent airflow, and you don't have to crank for flavor. There's a LOT out there - do you want to rebuild? Would you prefer to use pre-built coils?

Keep asking questions.... Lots of folk here to guide you.

The eleaf I have only goes to 40 watts. The box says istick power nano. I have it turned down to 22 watts. I seem to get the best flavor there. I also turned down the temp to 200. Its still to warm for me. It now says I am vaping at 0.5 ohms. Does that mean I am sub ohm vaping? I get an hour or two of vaping on this battery. Not happy. I can go almost all day on my 1100 mah ego.

As far as the protank 2 mini I am vaping vanilla ice cream. I don't know if that is what is gunking it up. I am not sure if to soak the coils in hot water or put them in my ultrasonic cleaner to extend the life. I've considered doing both. .

I will check out the ego one tank. I have never rebuilt coils and I'm not sure I want to. But that sounds nice that I can try it at least.

Overall these problems have kept me from kicking the cigs completely yet. At least I am down to less than a half a pack a day. That's progress. I'll keep plugging along until I get theproblems worked out.

Yes, less than 1.0 ohms is "sub-ohm" vaping. You can only do Temperature Control if you have a coil that is made with Ni200 or Titanium (and check me on the iStick 40 - I'm not sure it does Titanium coils)

The iStick 40 is a 2200mAh battery, if I'm not mistaken. So, running at 22W does slurp the battery life.... especially compared to the PT2 Mini

Cutting back - AWESOME!!!!!! Keep asking questions - give is "specifics" of what you're working with, and SOMEONE can help you out!

This is like the Istick Picos little brother. I had one and it had to live on the charger. The Istick Pico is very similar in form but takes an external 18650 battery. I love mine. I use an Atlantis Evo tank, usually at .5 around 40w and it isn't too hot, even chain vaping.

Also, if you don't want to subohm and have the melo tank that comes with the Istick nano or Pico kits, I've read that Triton coils are compatible but I haven't tried them myself.
I have the melo 3 nano tank on it I believe. Yeah this thing is on the charger more than it's not. Feel like I wasted $50. It was an impulse buy. I guess that's what you get.

I just realized what I am tasting is bitter. I don't know if that's burnt or not but its nasty tasting.
Thinking back I had problems with burning and bitter tasting juice with the coils that came with the melo tank. They are Atlantis coil compatible and I've had much better luck with the Atlantis style coils.

I felt the same way after buying the Nano in a vape shop for about 55$ and then seeing it online for 23$. I bought my Pico (mod only) for less than $30 including shipping online (of course, I also bought an external battery charger and a pair of 18650s at the same time, my cost was more but it was worth every penny). I now only buy in a brick and mortar if I absolutely need something right away.

The urge was to quit smoking that day so I jumped on the urge after a month or so of contemplating it. Brick and mortar it was for that. Can I even buy the Atlantis tank anymore I'm not finding it?
