Personally, I will not buy Chinese made coils. I mean you just never know where that wire has been and all the shortcuts used to fabricate it.
I make all my own coils anyway but...
Again Chinese nonsense. I am sure most of vapers now use Chinese coils (all these subtanks etc.) I am almost sure many US companies are getting their coils from China also.

In an attempt to get back on the rails...

That box/pack of like 50 premade wicked coils looked very cool. Hell, I'd have tried those if I'd ever seen them.

If that is, they're what I think they are. Are they for EVOD/??? heads? Just unwind, insert and place the leads etc, and snip off the wicks?
these https://www.fasttech.com/products/1593908 are what I buy and I use them in my evod/protank type heads. Sure makes rebuilding them quick and easy.

Feel almost the same as you Mattie. When I started 5 years ago it took me a while to learn all the terminology, but I was able to keep up with most of it for abt 3 years. These past two years so much terminology has changed and the market has exploded with new stuff. I've stayed on ECF the entire time, although admittedly not as often as the first 3 years. I have a local vape shop where I'm friends with the owner and staff and that's where I've actually seen with my eyes the huge difference. Compared to 3 years ago I'm blown away today by the wide variety of vaping supplies he carries. Its fun to be able to check it out in person, but I don't even try to remember what it all is anymore. A new vaping toy is still fun once in a while but new is few and far between as I'm more then happy with my "old" stuff :)

hehehehehe, thing is, I have been here every day all day ever since I hopped on this ride but new stuff is coming out so fast I can't keep up.

I feel that way too, which is why I no longer make any hardware suggestions to newbies in the newbie forum. If they wanna talk about how to go about transitioning from smoking to vaping, I'm all over that, but I have no clue about the latest hardware, except some of the mods -- love my CoolFire IVs! I can help tootle puffers find an RDA/RBA that they'll like, and even give them pointers on coil building and wicking for tootlers, but that's about it for hardware. DIY ejuice is another area I might be able to offer suggestions and advice, but not about where to buy ejuice or what ejuice is best for what.

Thank you grandmato5 and Andria. I am sure there are a lot of us here that are like this now. Since I make all my own juice and am set with what works for my vaping style I feel I have nothing to offer other than a pat on the back for a job well done when they choose vaping over smoking. I guess in the long run, that is really what is most important.

Not nonsense, common sense.

I never bash China, but they are not known for quality control, especially on mass produced items that retail for about $.50.

Most vapers are using them on regulated, protected devices.
Good thing. 1 in 10 is usually shorted in the pack and DOA.

Premade coil head of questionable quality+mechanical mod+ newbie vaper= headline news.

Im not posting links to blown up mods, google is your friend too.

1. If you buy prebuilt coils often, you've most likely found one DOA.
(Not uncommon with .50 cent electronics).

2. Slapping that coil on a mechanical mod without checking for a short can cause much issues with your battery.

3. Stevie Wonder could see this can cause a problem.

Common sense man, common sense.

What "math"? Please, give me a link to a news story about some disaster due to bad Chinese coil. Then we'll talk about math.

I sent you a PM with vivid pics of the problematic combo.

I'm not posting pics like that in the forum. I'm not promoting fear, just safe common sense vaping.

Now that I have found what works for me I haven't kept up with all the new offerings and terminology so most of what I am reading today goes right over my head. Am I the only one that feels like they are back to the beginning ?/?/?

hehehehe, you see what I did there-----Back on topic :D

Well, we can offer perspective, much as long-time-sober people do at AA meetings -- a lot of us probably quit smoking many times, but never could make it stick, till vaping, and anyone here with more than a year smoke-free is a testament to the fact that vaping not only helps you with quitting, but also helps you stay that way, something NO other method of quitting can offer.

And along with perspective, encouragement -- I'm sure we remember how challenging it was to find just the right way to vape, for our own needs and wants; heck just learning the lingo is a major undertaking! :D For any newbies I see in the newbie forum having difficulties with the first vape setup they've ever even SEEN, I can urge them to hang in there and stick with it, because it does get easier, it's just sometimes kind of a pain to get started. I think that's a valuable thing for a new vaper to know, it doesn't *stay* a huge PITA! :D

Well, I wouldn't buy their children's toys, lol, but I'm about to pull the trigger on the new Bellus and thought I'd add a small pack of UD Claptons to check out well... Claptons.
You saying you wouldn't?

Come to think of it... I've a small collection of pre-rolls that came with most of my RDAs, not to mention the Kangers, any tank with an RBA, etc.
You think they're "tainted"?
You've never ordered spools that were mfg'd in Asia?
I probably have 2 or 3 clone attys from China that are not used and some stock coils too so yea, I have vaped it.

I disagree and you HAVE ZERO to substantiate your position as well. Ignorance is not bliss, Alien. To say vapors use products from China whether they know it or not does not substantiate the quality either. Why even bother saying it.

My eyeballs through a 40X MAGNIFYING GLASS tell me most stuff from China is pretty poorly made. The feel of the stuff says the same thing. To each his own. Vape on.

Interesting. You have stuck in 1980ies.
For your information, most of vaping innovation is coming now from China and it grabbing greates market share (we are not talking about cigalikes for sure).

Just three Chinese companies:
iSmoka/iLeaf – iStick, MELO, Lemo, GS, etc.
Kangertech – KBox, Subox, Emow, Subtank, Aerotank, Protank, etc.
Innokin – MVP, iTaste, Cool Fire, iClear

They produce innoivative and relatively cheap things. Who can stand up to them? May be Joyetech, but that's it. So (even if you do not like it) Chinese coils do dominate world of vaping (again, not counting cigalikes, they are disgusting). Wake up, it's different century, different millennium outside already.
