Backwoods Brew website on hold due to potential NY Ban

Unfortunately since the inevitable looks like it will happen in NY, I have decided to just hold off on the web site until I know exactly what is going on. I dont want to be on the radar screen if everything goes through.

If anyone would like to place an order I will except Paypal as long as there is no mention of anything E-Cig related. Feel free to PM me or ask on the forum.

I LOVE the Zero Filler Mod Cart for the 510 soooooo much!!! works FABULOUS on my 510LR's too..never get that thousand kitties crawling down my throat haha hate that!

Hey Barb, I think your talking about the Backwoods Malty.

I need your camera to take a couple pics for you of a beautiful Red Tailed Hawk in their nest I found.

As soon as I figure out why they changed a few thing and get the right thing back Ill be back in business with the ZFM. Yeah I do like them as well and they work great on the LR atties. I almost have the new style ones going just as good so im hoping if I cant get the old style these will be as good and the good thing is they dont go bad or wear out, just the cart hear and ther melting when you push it down to far.

Hows things treating you, good I hope.

PS I had my trout dinner this past weekend, 1 Brookie, 1 Rainbow, and 3 Browns and I have a pic for you also.

You are something Barb I gotta tell ya.

Just to ease your pain a touch on the fish, I do file the barbs off the hooks so its only a needle and easy to come off for release on the little guys.

Actually I think they are tending to the babies in the nest now, or it seems to be. NY isnt to big but from where you are to here is about 5 hours I think.

Yeah I really need to track down the old style carts for the 510 as they are the best ones, newer style is getting there but harder for sure. Trying one more lead on them and if it dont pan out will have to just make do with the newer ones. I wish I had a endless supply of them.

Oh my little santuary I do love it so. Nothing better then sitting there listening to the running water and not a care in the world.

all the NY, IL suppliers need to look into registering their business in a unbanned state.. there is mail address companies that set you up with a street addy.. that you can register as the company, from there all you have to do is pay sale taxes to the state the company is registered at.. so no taxes from sales will go to the state you are in now..

there is no need to relocate or shut down since the place you are at now would be nothing more than a shipping warehouse.. or distribution center for the company..

I believe ya would have to do a dual state set up. It is a pain, anyone that has moved in the middle of the tax year can tell ya, and cost at some places almost double to do your taxes.
I am not sure how they treat it any more. I know I have had trucker buddys that use a PO box in OK to get a cheaper insure rate. Not sure how it will work with something like this.
Will double shipping have to be done or not?

Yeah I would think it would be a problem all the way around and if caught I cant see the outcome being good especially if still shipping something banned out of the state its banned in OUCH is right Natura

Seems like too many grey ereas. I believe they covered distribution in it as well, I could be wrong but NY is notorious for adding things in after the fact. And if paying taxes from here I believe red flags would go up all over.

Right...I was thinkin the same thing, But won't the government assume thats what suppliers will do and intervene on that too?

Not completely accurate. Every state has different laws obviously, but many states like my own require sales tax collection if you have ANY presence in that state. If I order from a CA vendor who happens to have a shipping warehouse in CT, they must collect CT sales tax.

And with the recession they're getting worse, starting to consider an affiliate as a presence in the state if that affiliate surpasses a certain ammount of sales. There's articles everywhere on Amazon's handling of the handful of states passing these insane new laws if you want to google it.

Oh, plus lots of states require one of the listed company partners/owner/whatever actually reside in that state for this very reason as well.

I suggest doing your homework before jumping in on something like this, it will cost you big time in the end. You won't see it coming if it happens, but the standard technique is to select a handful of vendors and raid them all the same day and make a press release to look like heroes.

Yeah thats about the type of thing I figured on this Enigma. It wouldnt be worth it and I wouldnt want to be an example or get into some prohibition type thing either. Good points and thanks for the info.
