They do work, just not as well. 900mAh drops the voltage to roughly 4.6v under load and quickly die out after. The only thing we could attribute for the larger drop was the higher amperage. I actually stated this in a couple threads ...

thus, we decided to stick with the 750mAh tenergy batts ... they have worked the best for us in all aspects.

Hi, Cash - after reading a worrisome thread about a guy that had two incidents of battery venting and flaming, I really wanted to know if the batteries have the word "Protected" - what ever that means - on them. Thanks.

Well...considering the odds of it happening, and it happening twice to the same person, I'd say that there's a problem with his mod or he doesn't know how to care for his batteries.

I ordered these from Lighthound. I'll post follow-up:

Antebellum ... No, the word "Protected" is NOT written on the battery itself. Judging from the Manufacturers Website, they do in fact have a PCB onboard ... in other words ... Yes, they are protected batteries, and in fact will not over-charge or over-discharge.

I used CR123s 1400mAh and they lasted a good few hours of constant vaping. Still dont think they work AS well as the rcr123a batteries that came with the Prodigy.

Interesting Reign :)

Per Manufacturers Website:
Internal over-charge and over-discharge protection to prevent battery over use. The current will be shut off when the battery voltage drops below 2.5V.

And WV ... My 900mAh lasted more than a minute and a half ... haha

Thats NOT what she said!

err sorry steve couldnt resist the chance !

It would have been helpful if we would have known, that only one battery will work with the Prodigy, sometime during the 5 week wait after orders were placed instead of being told after the product was delivered.

WV ... Had I known, it would have been said ... we tested 2 RCR123's, both happened to be Tenergy. We saw that the 750mAh performed better, thus we kept it. I have in the past 5 or so weeks mentioned the 900mAh did not perform as well even going as far as saying what the voltage dropped to on such 900mAh batteries. When someone purchases a "base kit" its up to them to determine what power best suits their needs. I can only guarantee what I sell ...

EDIT: For all we know, it could just be the Tenergy 900mAh that are having problem. I got roughly 2 or so hours on the ones I used before a huge drop off. Reign seems to have used 1300mAh batts and it worked fine ... Granted, not as good as the 750mAh from Tenergy as he stated, but they still did.

That is a scary statement !!!!!

We all want the best power supply possible. Your the professional, right???

I hope you have your product together and you would supply and tell us what power best suits the Prodigy.

If your not ready to launch your product, keep it in Tennessee.

If I am out of line, I apologize. You have a product that could be the answer to all, make sure you have it together with your product, attitude and business plan.

I'm not entirely sure how that's a scary statement? I don't hold the hand of someone buying their own batteries, so how am I to be held responsible for what they put it in? We built the Prodigy based on a certain platform, if someone decides to modigy/change/or meander away from that platform we set up, we will still continually try to help them, but I can't guarantee results. Does that make a little more sense?

I recommend 3.0v - 750mAh batteries made by Tenergy when using the Prodigy which I have recommended since day 1. Should you decide to try 3.0v - 3.7v or 400mAh - 1500mAh batts, is entirely up to the user. Resistance WILL change depending on what the user decides to use.

If you want the best power supply possible then just get what Steve ships with the prodigy...
Tenergy LiFePO4 RCR123A 3.0V 750mAh Rechargeable Battery (as low as) $2.79 ea!

Things tend to only become a problem when people try to function outside the box without enough knowledge to troubleshoot problems on their own.

Steve DOES sell batteries on his site and they work really well...you get 4 of them and a charger if you buy the regular not the base kit The people talking about batteries not working well are using batteries different from what he sells! Different people like different power.

The Prodigy is the best vaporizer I have used and it is ready to be sold! I love mine!!
