bad cough when vaping

been vaping for about a year maybe longer now and I have this really bad cough only when vaping. not sure what is causing it. nic is usually at 1.5mg right now but highest I've gone was 3mg for months now down from 6mg, typically running 70/30pg but I've tried 50/50 same thing, I take long drags unless I'm vaping at a higher wattage or temp and still get a cough.

maybe about every 1-6 pulls and I get it. sometimes after even. any way to stop this it feels like I have some mucus stuck in my throat and I'm trying to cough it up. haven't smoked a cig in months now

Could just be the last of the cigarette nasties coming up, or you need a doctor. Could be nothing, could be the sign of an incurable disease......why would you ask this question here, go see a doctor if you are really worried about it.

If you have to cough, you have to cough.

If you Know your equipment is performing at top condition and you are using your usual Brand/Flavor/Strength, then it is likely You do have a Mucus issue.
Maybe see your personal doctor.

Maybe go back to 3mg or where you wernt coughing.

Might be the case of vaping more to get the nic you crave? or pulling harder for a TH.

always good to have a baseline to go back to.

golf balls in your throat feeling is usually from vaping too much, doing amphetamines or extasy ;-) tonsillitis is also another cause.

I didn't see a doctor because it's only when I'm vaping. smoking a cig does nothing but vaping I get the cough and it's not always. I tried switching back to a higher ohm coil and not sub ohm seems to be a bit better.

Dry cough or wet cough? Dry cough, if you are using the same flavor all the time, try changing to a flavor that is completely different and see if that helps, you could have a sensitivity to a certain flavoring. Mucus wet cough is probably seasonal allergies, see your Dr or take a Claritin. It could be like Dragon NC said, go to MTL and see if that helps.

Maybe slightly too high vg?

Personaly, when it comes to juice, I have to chose one symptom over the other when it comes to the carrier. Every ones body has different tolerances. Too much pg(30% or more for me) causes a very bad sore throat issue that does not go away unless I lower the pg or stop vaping for long periods. Too much vg(50% or more for me) causes phlegm buildup in/on the back of my throat like cigarettes used to but is clear rather than polka dotted red/brown in a green fluid.

Drinking water and staying hydrated helps alot with the phlegm, but nothing helps with the burning/sore throat, so I'd rather chose the higher vg over the pg.


I do sudjest hydrating more too. Hope you figure what's the deal
