Ive been stockin up on batteries, both manual and autos for a while. Juices, DIY supplies etc.
For the past week, Ive gotten faulty stuff from CigEasy, AND V4L..I know they are both very very good companies. My PT went bad from V4L, and one of my manual batteries went bad from CigEasy, then when i got my replacements from V4L THAT PT didn't have threads on it at all to screw the Cartomizer onto. AND i ordered 3 extra long batteries and one of the 3 dont work, charge, light up, or nething. So now I gotta return my bad parts PLUS the bad replacements parts too..Very frustrating. But at least i got plenty batteries to use until my stuff gets fixed.

Wow you really re having bad luck. I've ordered 5-6 batteries from V4L and no problems yet.

BTW how are you charging your batteries and using your PT? PT's usually draw too much power for many PC USB ports - PTs may want 1 or 2 amps of power and PC USB ports (except maybe Mac) are only required to provide 500mA of power (1/2 amp). I got some 4-port USB to AC adapters with max 2 amps, so I can run a PT on one or charge up to 4 batteries. If you had a PT that only needed 1 amp then you could probably run a PT while charging 2 batteries.

On a 5 volt you should be using 3.0 ohms or higher cartos. Some people go lower but you risk burning up the carto, the PT and or the wall charger. Also not all wall chargers put out 2 amps. If you are using the V4L cartos they should work. Mine always have with a V4L PT. Then again that was 4 months ago. I don't buy from them anymore. I don't have anything against V4L in fact I think they one of the better vendors. I just try not to buy rebranded products made buy some mysterious company in China.

So most likely a bad PT.

USB adaptors whether car or wall need to be 5V and at least 1.2 amps (1200mA) to run the passthrus. They usually come as 1200 or 2000mA.

Freedom Smokes USA has the wall, VaporNine has both, VaporKing has both. The walls are more difficult to find.

You could also check your local computer/cell phone accessory stores and as long as they meet the above ratings you are good to go. The one I use in the wall is 2amps and I have both 1.2 and 2 amp car adapters. All work great and it's nice to not risk ruining my trusty old computers USB ports. I do use them on my laptop on the road though.

I got a V4L battery with no air holes right before Xmas and they couldn't have been any nicer. I had a replacement in my hands 2 days later half way across the country. I did have to send the other one back but I reused their envelope and the shipping was only 90 cents. With Chinese quality control these mistakes sometimes get through.

My V4L passthru works great and I have 5 of their XL batteries that have been troopers.

High resistance KR-808D1 cartomizers really help with the hotness. Try Boge 3.0's, CoolCarts, and I think other companies Gold Premiums, etc. are the same thing. When filling new cartomizers make sure you wait at least a half hour to avoid burning. The Boge's have a lot a layers to wick through. I ruined a few new ones learning the hard way.

If you can, start new cartos on a 3.7 battery first to get them going before you move them to a passthru. Passthrus are a lot less forgiving in the burn department.

Top up with juice as soon as they are somewhat flavorless and they work great. For me that's after 10-12 drags, but your mileage may vary and it also depends on the juice.

Don't get an automatic passthru, you'll kill it no time. A passthru will go through prefilleds too fast so you will want to refill yourself. As soon as juice leaks into the open battery auto, it dies. Get a manual so you have control of the heating and a sealed battery.

CHeck out the Ego Passthru with the built in battery. You can get an adapter to put on it for KR808D1 carts and have a 650ma EGO battery included. Those work in 500 Ma adapters I'm pretty sure.

Great advice. I like the 808 better because it has a higher working voltage but I think the joye Ego is a better battery. Don't know about the many rebranded ones. Some are good some have more problems. The Joye Ego made as a PT. Just screw off the back plate and it has a mini USB port. Not sure what would happen if you put a discharged Ego on a Ego on 500 Ma port. Pretty sure isn't quite enough for me. You can get much better juice from other vendors if you refill yourself.

It was definitely a bad PT.. It will work fine in my laptop, but if i invert it, or hold it in any position other than vertical (carto up), it will begin to engage and cook my carto as if im puffing on the PT. So I got a new one on the way. The second PT was simply a assembly line error. It is missin the threads on it to screw the carto onto. Thanks for the voltage tips everyone. I def, need to be more selective on the Ohm load on my carts.

I had a similar experience with 2 brand new 808's I got from SmokeTips. They charge more for their batteries but, they also warranty them for life. They sent 2 new ones USPS Priority mail within 2 hours of me speaking to customer support. (Hope these last longer than the 2 days the first 2 did!)

that stinks. i've had mine since november and haven't had any problems yet.

i will say though that the warranty is indeed awesome,it amounts to free batteries for life. even if i killed one every month, it doesn't cost me anything more than postage to ship it back and get a fresh one.

Hello everyone!
I'm really new at at this and was hoping to find some answers to a couple of questions. This seemed a good place to ask.
I recently ordered two manual batteries from V4L. Within a week both have quit working. One of them will charge but the manual button wont work. The other I think is just done for, it wont charge or any thing. In looking over the treads in the forum I tried all the tips that I found and nothing has worked. That being said (lol...I do talk/type a lot) my questions are these.
1)What is the best why to contact the company? I sent an email on their live support thing last night. The only response Ive gotten so far is an email saying that it had been opened.
2) How long does it normally take to get a response?
I was really hoping to get this taking care of asap, I only have 1 other battery and it's the short one so I'm not getting much use out of it. I haven't smoked for 4 weeks I would hate for this to be the reason for falling off the wagon.
Thanks for all your help!

V4L usually responds to a support ticket within 24hrs. If that doesn't work, give them a call and, if nobody picks up (and today nobody will, as the store is closed due to the ice storm), leave a message. I have been dealing with them for 19 months and they are great about handling problems. They will most likely send you out 2 brand new batteries, for free:) Good luck!

I'm having a similar problem - ordered 2 manual & 2 autos from V4L & I'm having issues with all of them. You can try to fix the batteries by using a thumbtack/paperclip and "raising" the battery posts: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-new-batteries-here-new-batteries-here-3.html

This didn't work for me, so I've put in support tickets. They are actually closed today because of the weather, but they should be back tomorrow to help you out.
