So hey guys, Good News here with another negative review - this time, it's the iClear 30.

Now, before this review, the truth is that the iClear series tends to be one of the highest regarded tanks around - I see many less problems with it than anything else out there. The reviews are usually good, and the problems are usually solveable.

However, here's my experience:

First, after unboxing my iClear 30, I fill the tank up with the thinnest juice in my stock, one that I really want to experience a clean flavor from (because the flavor is so light, it picks up any nasty flavors in tanks). Everyone recommends letting the tank sit overnight, so I put it in a dark closet and let it be.

However, to my surprise, 4 hours later, the tank had leaked all over the place! I had everything snug and secure with the tank, and somehow, the juice just poured out from between the plastic and metal base (not the bottom hole - I didn't even have the thing filled up enough for it to leak through the wick holes). Knowing that these issues can sometime solve themselves, I fill the tank up again, resecure everything, and let it sit for a couple more hours - so far, no leaks!

Yet, here's where the review gets bad experience wise - after hours of letting the thing sit, I finally figure "Hey, this might as well be enough time, some people only sleep for 6 hours or so." and I try to vape it. The whole time, I notice that my juice hasn't "went down" in the least (the phenomenon that many report), but since the juice I'm using is water-thin, I figure that it just wicked immediately upon filling it - this particular juice does that very well. But I start my test at 3.3V's, and I get almost no vapor, and really no flavor. I try to vape it again after 30 seconds, and I get a bit of a scratchy, dry hit.

I think to myself "Ok, this thing just needs to sit." I let it sit for hours, and I go back to vape. This time, I turn it up a little to 3.7V's, thinking it may need a little boost of power as well. The first hit gives me a sight bit more of vapor, but not any real flavor. The next hit, again, tastes dry and a bit scratchy. Right away, I know something is wrong - this device just is barely giving me any vapor, it's tasting dry, and yet my tank has been soaking in water-like juice for about 12 hours. The thought that pops to my mind is that one of the coils is busted, and sadly, I don't have another to try.

As of right now, I can't figure out what's going on with this tank, other than that with the bottom coil, the rubber grommet seems to push tighter on those wicks than it does with the top coil wick, which may lead to inconsistent wicking between the two coils, leading to a problem alike to what I experienced with the Aspire. Or one of the coils may be busted. Or something. I usually can break down what I think is a problem with a particular device, but other than the rubber grommet being too snug on the bottom wick, I have no clue when it comes to this one. Many consider the iClear to be a hassle-free device, and many report a ton of vapor and a nice clean flavor.

Either way, the iClear 30 gets a Bad News for now. I'm placing a call into the vendor tomorrow (I purchased from the same vendor as I did for the Aurora), so hopefully, they can help me with a replacement.

P.S. A third attempt at vaping the iClear 30, using as gentle vaping draw I could possibly muster (for those who want to push that theory), and it popped a couple times, and gave me a ghastly dry hit that make my whole face scrunch up. It was nasty. I don't see what in the world is wrong with this tank, but it seems bizarre.

All I can sya is BUMMER! I'm hoping you just got a bad unit because I have 2 that I've been carying around in my pants pocket for about a month and have not experienced any leakage with the exception of a small amount ocassionally on the battery, and I take them apart at least once a week, rinse 'em out and go. The only real problem I've had is that after about a month, I start getting a burnt taste and then it dawned on me to change the head (2.2). Amazing difference. Sounds like a bowl of Rice Krispies and I've got plenty of vapor. I'm running it on a 1300mah vision spinner set at about 3.8.

It almost sounds like yours isn't making a good connection somewhere. I took mine completely apart (almost lost the o-ring and cap down the drain) and rinsed it off real well, dried it and made sure everything was put back together nice and tight. Check the top of the battery as well. If there is any leakage, from the juice, on the battery contact, it will not conduct as well. You may have tried these steps: I'm passin along some things I've learned. Hopefully you'll havebetter luck with your next one.

LOL! Sorry to laugh, but I just find your tank reviews hilarious, you somehow manage to always get a dud product that a large number of people find no fault with.

BTW, would help to make reference to the following when writing a tank review:

1.What device were you vaping on?
2.What was the ohm resistance of the coil you were running?
3.What brand & flavor e-juice, PG/VG ratio?

Sorry to double post, but here we have another product, which an overwhelming large majority of users consider to be an excellent clearomizer tank (minus the fact that glass/pyrex is not an available option) gets a bad rap based on the ineptitude of a particular user.

No photos provided, no details on where the product was purchased from, no information on the device it was used on, the settings, coil resistance, specifics on the e-juice, nothing... just ramblings on about the alleged defect of the product which again, a majority of users, including myself, have had zero issues with.

Highly recommend any user reading this to reconsider the source and pull up an additional search on the forums for a more accurate portrayal of the iclear30 tank.

Everyone here knows that I use a Spinner-type battery at 3.3V's, and everyone should know the iClear 30's stock head ohm. I've said this in just about every post on ECF. Sure, this could look a tad detailed-less for the new reader, but I just think people should trust my techniques by now.

And what am I going to post a photo of exactly? My computer is a 1GB DDR3 Memory POS that I got for $99 at a Pawn Shop, it does horrible with the file formats and photo sizes of the camera I use in my Cinematography career, and my antique, 5-year old iPhone doesn't take photos worth seeing.

Go look somewhere else if you want a photo, and go accuse someone else who hasn't repeated their vaping techniques a billion times. Or simply go read. I've posted dozens of reviews and I do contain this information in each of them. With photos, I could make a tank, coil, or problem look like anything I wanted to in a photo if I was really out to "scam" anyone with these reviews. Someone would accuse me of that if I did. So I don't waste my time with it. There's nothing to see, usually the problems I get are a complete physical mystery.

I also do not say vendors names until I get a fully working product because I do not want to yet ruin a relationship with a vendor who may eventually help me achieve a good vape. If the final solution goes either good or bad in a "final" way, I will post the vendor's name.

Really, and what is that?? I have purchased a total of 4 iClear 30 tanks and the "stock" heads have come in 1.8 and 2.1 ohms. I see at my local "Authorized" B&M that they have genuine Innokin iClear 30 tanks in 1.5, 1.8, 2.1, 2.2 and 2.5 ohms.

Oh and FWIW, I have no where near the "experience" that you have but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express once and my experience with iClear 30's has been absolutely nothing but positive. For a fill and vape tank with no hassles, little if any chance of flooding or leaking (unless improperly assembled or filled by user) there is no better larger capacity choice IMO. Is this tank/clearomizer/atomizer going to give the same experience of a $150 hand built Atty? NO.. Will this tank/clearomizer/atomizer provide a user with a really got vaping experience at a reasonable price without having to know how to build coils etc.? YES. Again, my opinion...

I don't know you or what you vape lol. You've been here a couple of months I guess and it's the first post I've ever read of yours. How could I know what gear you have to do a review lmao. Do you wash a new topper before you use it? This could be a problem solver from the get go.

I use two iclear 30's and the only real problems I have is the cap on the post gets burnt after some use and it sucks up juice much faster than most tanks/clearos. And I guess the juice gets a little spent towards the end of the tank. Other than that it is not too bad at all.

I guess I should know what eJuice you are using too. Yes, those familiar with you trust your techniques very much, trust that you will always find a way to either flood or burn your clearomizer.

Anyway, i think a review is helpful when as much pertinent information can be provided in the subject; pics are great if you are troubleshooting, details of what setting everything is at so someone can get a good frame of reference, where you got it from, how much, etc... are all things that people appreciate during the information gathering stage.

So with that said, I'll say again, highly recommend readers to look for more iclear30 information from a better source.

I didn't, so no not everyone knows you use a "spinner type" and just so we can become more informed, what exactly is a spinner type and so that those of us who know a little about PWM, what spinner type so that we may figure out why your having problems.

and everyone should know the iClear 30's stock head ohm.
Been covered in an earlier post, people who know also know that iClear 30's come in MANY "stock head ohms"

but I just think people should trust my techniques by now.
And why is that, you've been a member here for less than 2 months and somehow expect the 1,000's of members on here to "just trust" your techniques. Well this happened to be the very first and only one of your expert reviews I have read and will ever read. What about the person who just joined ECF and is all excited and giddy about the new (to them) MVP and iClear 30 they just upgraded to at the local B&M. They come on here, do a search and land upon your "Bad News" review, read through it and have no idea who you are, what your experience level is, your "techniques" or anything else yet you expect them to take your word in a content light review.

and go accuse someone else who hasn't repeated their vaping techniques a billion times. Or simply go read. I've posted dozens of reviews and I do contain this information in each of them.
BILLION times??? In under 2 months and with less than 200 posts, how exactly is that possible?? And further, so as a new review reader one is expected to search out all your reviews and read all of them so they can piece the information together to come up with a complete review on their current interest?

usually the problems I get are a complete physical mystery.
Or after reading 100's of other reviews from people who have been doing it a long time and with the proper technique the problems can usually be attributed to lack of experience and technique.

Anyone can come on here and write reviews, nothing against that but if your going to take that leap into becoming a public figure doing reviews then be ready for the negative that come in along with the positive. If someone reads your review and asks for more information then a reviewer with "trusted techniques" should, if they are good answer the questions and not berate the person asking for not knowing the reviewer intimately.

Take a few minutes, follow your own advise and search out some of the highly respected and often quoted reviewers on here. Go back in time and look at their early reviews and see how they got to become pseudo authorities on everything vape. It wasn't by telling an inquiring person that they should already know everything about them, they answered the questions, took advise, tried the advise and posted the results.

Now, before this review, the truth is that the iClear series tends to be one of the highest regarded tanks around - I see many less problems with it than anything else out there. The reviews are usually good, and the problems are usually solveable.

Or one of the coils may be busted. Or something. I usually can break down what I think is a problem with a particular device, but other than the rubber grommet being too snug on the bottom wick, I have no clue when it comes to this one. I couldn't even finish reading this stupid review. What's up with your logic in thinking if you let something sit for several hours it's going to change the outcome? And with a dual coil (and I'm going to assume it's 2.1ohms, specify next time and don't assume people read your other reviews because majority don't) you need way more power than 3.3-3.7 volts to get a decent vapor and flavor production. If anytging you might just have a bad coil head. They don't just magically fall from the sky, people/machines assemble those and not every single one will be the same. Dudds here and there are inevitable. But it's not the clearomizer that is bad. Get some new coils.

I like the iclear30... It came with my mvp v2, which tells me it runs between 2 and 2.2 ohms. Gives good flavor, tons of vapor, but sucks up the juice. I worry about the plastic tank because I bent the metal part on an iclear16 so bad it won't screw onto the ego I got with it and leaked all over my pocket. I did do a dry burn with it to make sure both coils fired and to get rid of any factory residue nastiness which there was a bit of, but after the dry burn I filled it and gave a swirl and vaped hard on it, all I tasted was pineapple

Old GoodNews! Never gets a good product. The vaping world should build a statue in honor of the 'King' - Buyin' Up the Junk so Others Won't Suffer. Review BAD? I would expect nothing less. The folks who love 'em will be greatly disappointed.

Senile Old Man Don ......... Where can I buy some of this BAD equipment? Mine just "works". Darn!

i've been rocking the same iClear 30s for a month now, still going good. i had bought 2 complete tank setups for my MVP-2 and when i went to clean the first....i did lose the o ring down the sink!! I was wondering why this thing was leaking like a sieve on my mod. swapped them out and back to clouds.
I was out yesterday to p/u some juice for our B&M shop and picked up the new Aspire...........Friggin He**, this thing is bad! i am going to use it for clear juices and the 30 for dark ones since the wicks are stained anyway, of course for a couple bucks i could change them.

the Aspire on the MVP-2 i think, at least for now is the end all. no wicks to fool with, the only thing i have to remember is that it DOES NOT FILL FROM THE TOP!!!! I was going to top off and i went and did it like the 30 and juice was everywhere!!!

gotta remember it is a bottom feeder and unscrew from there. otherwise, clean, clean burn, tons of vapor and no leaks at all! I love this combo......until the next shiny thing comes out!!!

I have 5 iClear 30 and they *all* leak at the 510 connector. I've tightened everything in them... but they leak. FWIW, they're part of my at-home vaping setup, and they're always stored in the vertical position in a rack. I never put more than 2 ml of juice in them, and it's always thick VG liquid. Yet they leak.

Also, i find the vapor they produce not hot enough for my taste, but that's just me. I'm trying hard to like these clearos, but frankly they're a bit disappointing. But they're less disappointing than other clearos I have, so I keep 'em :)
