Bad taste in new cartomizers\attys (not primer)

Need some help here,<br><br>I just got  two dual coil cartomizers today, and the first one works great!  The second I put FSUSA hypnotic mist in there and it had normal taste at first, but then changed to tasting horrible.  I don't know how to describe it.  It's the same taste I've got on a new atty (I've had two attys and now these two cartos.)  On the atty that tastes bad I assumed I needed to break it in, but it is persisting, even after cleaning in an ultrasonic.  What's the deal, do these things need to be broken in for awhile?  It is pretty foul.  They are different brands\models and different juices, so I'm wondering what the cause might be.  Only thing I've read about is primer, but it seems like it might be something else.  Thanks!<br>

Are you filling it enough? If it is underfilled it can singe the polyfill and wick and will give a nasty taste. I recommend using a syringe to fill cartos. That will ensure they are filled correctly

I think that it was flooded actually, but I got to a point where it was gonna come around, then it started tasting terrible. I let it sit to distribute the juices first also if that matters.

Is it a bitter/burnt taste? If so, you singed them

What PG/Vg were your juices and did you fill the carto completely as in to capacity and allow it to settle?

50/50 Yeah I think bitter/burnt is accurate. For both the carto and the atty.

50/50 is a bit thick for cartos. You're better off with 30% VG or less.

I had the same issue which is why I went from cartos with Polyfill to Clearos. To keep the taste persistant I just hold it upside down for a few seconds in between draws. If you singe the material right from the get go IMO the carto is down and I toss them.

I've burned a couple and you can't get that flavor out. I have gotten lucky a few times and caught just a hint of burning and saved the carto. They're cheap enough that I just throw them away if they get burnt anymore.

Those dual coils are tricky to fill - some people use condom push or syringe to fill the bottom and then dripping to fill the rest. And the thicker the juice you use the longer you need to let a carto settle. I used to use 30% Vg juices in cartos and switched to 20% just because it works easily. Some people can use thick 100% VG in dual coils but it's not something for a beginner to attempt.

Atomizers - I don't know - new atomizers take a while to break in (or break if you don't keep them damp enough). You need to prime with liquid and give the liquid time to get wet the wick well and get down to the coil and wet that.
