Bakery Blahs?

Being a bread and pastry lover, I've now tried three different fruit/bakery flavors from three different vendors. I've noticed a similar under laying flavor that is not pleasant to my palate and I get the impression that 'it' coats my tongue. They also seem to have a 'perfume' element.

I will visit them again after a couple of weeks of steeping. Some of my early flavors have 'matured' nicely sitting on da shelf!

Is it me? Anyone else have a similar experience?

I just made a thread sort of similar to this. I can't do any cake, cookie dough, or chocolate flavors. I can do BAKED Snickerdoodle cookies and pastries, but no cake, end of story. Anything with vanilla or chocolate is really not my thing. But bring on the waffles, the Snickerdoodle cookies, the cinnamon rolls, caramel desserts...

Got some Cinnamon Rolls that wasn't too bad. It's in the steep pile for now. It's definitely worth a re-evaluation later.
