hi everybody... was thinking about the fda and local govt desires to tax, ban, regulate, whatever? vaping... what setup [rba/rda and mech mod] could one buy that would be ban proof? same with juice... could i go to the local grocery store and make my own flavoring?
i realize i would have to [and likely would be able to] buy my nic/vg/pg online still, but they will kill the flavors [for the children!].

The only thing the government will realistically interfere with is the sale of nicotine liquids. They won't ban the hardware; check out the [moderated] sold at your local convenience store if you need evidence for that claim. ;)

So the only ban-proof (or more likely, tax-proof) setup is to quit nicotine. Or, if worse came to worst, I suppose you could always just use a nicotine patch in conjunction with zero-nicotine vapor.

You're confusing stupid regulation with reality. You can add candy flavoring yourself anyway (check for vape-ability).
You can build a PV.
You can get RDAs and wind your own coils.

The only concern is the nic base, like said above.

That's not to say you won't have to work harder to put all the pieces together if they ban stuff. But I think it unlikely. Taxing and over-regulating is another issue entirely.

I stocked up on nic base a bit. Not as much as I'd like, but some. It's in the freezer.

I suspect that if they ban flavors vendors will come up with a work around. They could sell flavor shots separate from the nicotine liquids.

DIY or buying flavor shots would get you around this, unless they ban all nicotine liquids. I've also stocked up on nicotine base.

I'm not too worried about hardware. I really don't see how they could ban that.

It doesn't actually freeze....(unless it's -30 F or lower...or whatever...lol) but you can store it in the freezer to slow any degradation. True for pre-mix too I think. Although it has a shelf life of about 2 years normally anyway.

All this info probably varies a bit by PG/VG ratio and other ingredient content.

As said, nic base doesn't freeze at sub-0ºF home freezer temperatures, nor does it expand and crack glass, which is the only way I'd store it long term. Bubble wrap is good for protection, inside a heavy-duty ziplock bag, inside another, to catch leaking should a bottle flaw break or a cap leak. You don't want orally poisonous juice contaminating food, especially 100 mg/ml! I put any excess pre-mix (naturally extracted tobacco for me) in the refrigerator without steeping it first. That's only about three 30 ml bottles of each for me.

I currently have a gallon of 36mg base broken down into 8oz glass bottles in the basement deep freeze. If and when any truly obnoxious regs go into place I'll add a gallon or two of 100mg base to the stockpile before the regs take effect and be pretty much set for a few years. I don't see regulating the hardware as a feasible approach. They can't regulate 18650's, tubes, kanthal, etc.
