All of the news stories about this raise an interesting question:

Doesn't banning the sale of a product to minors imply that the lawmakers enacting such a law are acknowledging that the sale of this product is legal for adults?

I mean, the sale of ....... is illegal for everyone. To create a law banning the sale of ....... to minors would be redundant.

Well, contrary to what Mr. Banzhaf is trying to convince everyone of, the sale of electronic cigarettes is legal in most places at the moment. No one has acknowledged that more succinctly then the California Governor.
Oh, agree totally.

I'm just saying that many people believe ecigs are illegal to import/sell/market. The FDA has asserted this to be the case throughout the entire lawsuit. The point is that state governments, by enacting laws against sale to minors, are going against what the feds (read: FDA) say by explicitly condoning sale to adults.

My take on the situation...

ban the sale of e-cigs to minors?...definately!

Ban the use of e-cigs in public places?...wouldn't exactly be happy, but whatever. I'll stealth it.

Regulate the ingredients to PG, VG, water, nicotine, flavoring?.....sure! (these are already deemed safe by fda anyway)

............just don't make them illegal and impossible to obtain!

Worst fear?...PV's become illegal to possess and use in the US.

second worst fear?...e-liquid is no longer attainable from suppliers as we know it. either perscription required or only attainable through some high priced supplier and DIY liquids are unattainable and high nic strengths are no longer.
