Bartleby won't charge :(

Greetings. I am on my 3rd month with my first Bartleby and all of a sudden last night it stopped charging my batteries. Since day one I used just one battery and I thought that it was finally kaput. Tried a fresh never used one and the red LED will not come on or charge. Still seem to work though...

I always handled my Bartleby with great care and nothing on the inside looks burnt or fried. Anyone have suggestions on a different way I could test or charge? Tried a powered hub, direct connection to my mac, and usb to ac charge with no success.

I love my Bartelby, and I am not so gentle. I have dropped it on a concrete floor, put it in the washing machine, and lots of other mishaps. Anyway, I had the same problem ... got a new USB cable and everything is fine now. I'm actually on my third cable. I took one apart and found that a little juice got into the connector on the cable and must have prevented it from making full contact. Hope this helps.

Ah good suggestion! I tried various usb cables and still no red light. But I think it is slowly charging the battery though. Completely drained battery now stays on for a couple puffs. Not getting warm like a normal charge would be.

I bet it's the usb port on the Bartelby. Thanks god I have my 510 backups..8-o

A good investment would be a separate charger for the batteries. They aren't expensive. I have 3 units (including a Bartleby) that use 14500 batteries, so I really needed one. The dual charger I have will do several different PV sized batteries.

I have the same prob...the usb plug isn't making good contact. I think wayward juice has gunked up my usb port, I'm trying to figure out the best way to clean it.

Could you recommend a charger and a place to get it? I only have two batteries atm but a 4 count charger is what I am looking for. Thank you!

UPDATE: Bartleby is charging again, thank the weekend gods and you guys/gals and ecf.
