How hot does the base of your nautlius get when vaping. I slightly chain vape (or what I consider chain vaping anyway :) ), and the base gets fairly warm to the touch. Just wondering if normal. Going at 5.5 to 6.5 watts on 1.8 ohm atomizers (down to 1.4 ohm on my rebuilds, but usually at 5.0 or 5.5 watts depending on airflow setting). Not getting any burnt taste (just the occasional sizzler).

"fairly warm" is very subjective, but yes if you do more than a hit every few minutes expect the area surrounding the coil to heat up.

For Example one of the reasons I like the aerotank ver 2 airflow control device versus the ver 1, is that it is bigger piece of metal, with more surface area, so it can disipate more heat quicker.

You are vaping at pretty low wattage so I doubt it is getting very hot at all.

Yeah, I know fairly warm is imprecise - didn't have my temp gun handy. Looks like about 90 F (possibly higher, just a quick test), so nothing too nutty - just felt warmer by hand. I tend to take 4-5 pulls in rapid succession (just long enough to exhale in between...), so wasn't sure what was within reason. That's what I get for being lazy... :)

yeah that is normal for what how quickly you are vaping. You can help cool it a bit, by continuing to suck for a half second after you let go of the fire button. This also helps prime the wick, and can help the wick last a tiny bit longer.
