So I've been looking into (possibly) getting an itaste SVD and was wondering what would be a good affordable option for the batteries and charger? These are the two options I've been looking at:
$15.68 Panasonic NCR18650B Rechargeable 3400mAh 3.7V 18650 Lithium Batteries 2-pack - authentic cells / 2-pack at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping- batteries
$14.90 Nitecore I2 Lithium Li-ion Ni-MH Ni-Cd Smart Battery Charger (EU) - with Euro-plug AC charger cable at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping-charger

Do these look like good choices, or has anyone had any experience with this type of charger/battery setup? To my knowledge the SVD is a protected device, so im assuming it would be safe to use unprotected batteries in this device? I've also checked out some AW IMR and Efest batteries and was also curious as to whether the nitecore charger I listed above would work with those as well. I'm a noob when it comes to these types of batteries since I've never used them before so any advice would be appreciated :)

For a regulated mod like your SVD, you want high drain IMR batteries.

Protected Li Ion batteries have higher mAh ratings, but do not have the maximum load current required for regulated mods, mechanical mods using a Kick, or using an RBA. I would never recommend using an un-protected Li Ion battery in a mod, even one with built-in protected circuitry like the SVD. Un-protected Li Ions have no applications for vaping.

The Panasonic NCR18650B 3400mAh is not a high drain battery. The amp limit is 6.8 amps. I would never try to use them in a regulated mod, their application is more for a non-Kicked mechanical mod not using an RBA/RDA.

The AW IMRs are the top battery recommended by ECF battery expert rolygate. (http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/129569-rechargeable-batteries.html)

The Nitecore Intellicharger i2 or i4 is an excellent choice for a charger. My daughter uses the i2 and I have the i4 as my primary charger. We also use AW IMRs in both our mechanical and regulated mods.

Below is a list of high quality, name brand 18650 IMR or Hybrid batteries most recommended for all mods by battery experts:

AW IMR
18650 2000mah 10Amp (Continuous Discharge Rate)
18650 1600mah 24A

Panasonic or Orbtronic hybrid
CGR18650CH (IMR/Li Ion hybrid) 2250mAh 10A
NCR18650PD (high drain-high capacity) 2900mAh 10A

Samsung hybrid (LiNiCoMnP)
INR18650-20R 2000mah 22A

MNKE IMR
IMR18650 1500mah 20A

Sony IMR
us18650v3 IMR 2250mAh 10A

EFEST IMR
18650 2000mah 10A

I get all my batts and chargers from Randy at RTD Vapor.

I only use genuine AW batts, and PILA or Xtar chargers.

They seem to be having some battery slowdowns in terms of shipping at Fasttech anyway, and aren't they about to have a major holiday over there in next 2 weeks?

If you plan to vape for a while, just do not scrimp on batts or charger.....these are essential to your day to day vaping life.

For the mod you like I would get IMRs.
