Batteries and charger questions.

Hey there,
I've been vaping for a few years now and I've recently upgraded from a standard Ego type device to an MVP v2. Also recently I've purchased a Jazz e-pipe and am awaiting it's arrival. I've never had a mod that requires separate batteries. I've been doing a ton of research and well I guess I've just muddied the waters. So I purchased a mod that requires an 18500 battery but will accept an 18350 with a kick. I purchased a kick because basically I figured it would be a safer way to edge into the whole battery realm, with the kick's safety features. So I'm looking to get 18350 batteries and a charger. I've seen information on IMR batteries and protected batteries and well I think I'm just confused. The reviews on the IMR batteries were not favorable because they "didn't work for very long". Which I can only assume is because they were probably drained to low and cant recover (I think I read that that was a thing about them). So I'm thinking that the Kick will help prevent me from draining the batteries beyond a rechargeable state. So at this point I'm not sure if I should be using IMR batteries or protected batteries or what? Any suggestions, information, or recommendations would be much appreciated. Thanks

The best 18350 battery is the AW IMR battery--red jacket. I use them in my mini ProVari without any issues. I also recommend Nitecore Intellicharge I2 (not the I4) charger.

Good luck.
I4 works just fine, just the total current is divided if you plug in batteries in mated pairs 1-3 and 2-4, so 750mA divided equally between the individual charging ports

Pretty much mandatory reading for battery noobs

If you carry Li Ion spares..carry them in a plastic protective case (not loose in your pocket, shorting can = 'splody 'splody)...the 2x 18650 can hold 4x 18350's if you turn them sideways

I can't believe I have to ask this, I am usually pretty savvy about google things I don't know. I just got a Pila charger and new (red jacketed) AW batteries and can't figure out how they go into the charger. There is no positive and negative mark on them, but there is one on the charger.

Does anyone have a pic of their batteries charging correctly?

Please don't tell my husband I had to ask this, there would be no end to the jokes I would be the .... of!

The positive end of the battery will have a smaller cap than the negative end.

Positive (top on left) and negative (bottom on right):

^^ +1 Been using AW IMR 18350 for short mods and never had any problem. I2 is very dependable.

Hi Warhawk, thanks, I understand that, but I only use small batteries (18350 and 18490) and sometimes I just need to charge only one of them, so I feel safer with the smaller 500 mA output of the I2. 750 mA is too much for my 700 mAh battery...

Ultrafire? :p
