Can answer a couple of questions, been using a TR001 charger daily for nearly 3yrs with no problems, whatever charger you choose treat with respect, to be safe donot leave on overnight or leave unatended, check now and again to make sure it doesnot overcharge ie over 4.2ish volts
AW Imr are unprotected but safe due to chemistry have a lower mah but seem to last just as long as the AW Icr, so choose either both good batteries

ICR = lithium cobalt. (which is what many regular lithium cells are made of)
IMR = lithium manganese. (different chemistry and "safer")

I've been very happy with the tr001, comfortable with its operation, but recently picked up an xtar wp2 ii.

The xtar has a nice charging characteristic, at end of charge it drops to a trivial 0.1 mA, and the disconnected from AC discharge rate is only 0.5 mA. The latter is big for me, since I use a little $10 Belkin outlet timer that turns off after 3 hours. I'm a lazy person, and like to recharge at night, so the little timer buys some extra protection; the timer would likely work great with the tr001, too, just that I haven't seen the disconnected discharge data for it.

If you get an xtar, for bp 16340 batteries you should pick up a second pair of spacers.

(the belkin timer is cool, I added a second one driving a power strip in the basement, for my power tool chargers; it also has a 6 hour setting available)

A lot of this battery stuff has been over done IMO , will failures happen = YES will they happen a lot = NO , do you need to pay attention = YES , do you have to get crazy over it = NO

I leave batts on the charger all the time , in fact at work we leave them on all the time even over the weekend and have never had a failure , does this mean we will not = NO do I worry about it that much = NO .

Anyhow because one thing failed out of 100,000 does not make all products bad.

How many chargers do I have in the house? Lots. How many times have I left battery packs, particularly power tools, sitting on chargers? Can't count the number, not enough fingers and toes :) How often have I had a charger or battery go bad? Zero.

I'm very happy with the timer, it's small and simple. 3 prong outlet, I added a small triple tap adapter, have it in a power strip in a convenient location, run my regular charger and VVPV off it. One time set the switch for how long, then push a button whenever I want it to turn on. Belkin - Conserve Socket Power Timer - White/Lemongrass - F7C009

(I actually have a charging bag, too, never used it. I went for decades using nada, the timer is more than good enough for me, mainly wanted it because I don't like wasting power.)
