Batteries - Better to wait until they die or recharge frequently?

I've been recharging my batteries at least once or twice a day instead of letting them die and then recharging. Li-Ion batteries in general last longer when constantly topped off instead of letting them run dry and then doing a full recharge. Has anyone else tried a test between two batteries over their life cycle to see if there is a difference?

Just curious I guess.

you already answered your question, li-ion batteries can get 100 charges to them when they are depleted but can go up to 500 if they are charged before they get to below 50% capacity
