I like surefire non-rechargeable batteries more than anything. They last forever!!!! DAYS at high use, and when your done you just throw them away.

You can get a box at surefires website for about 20 bones.

They are safer than non-recharables at least to me. You just have to make sure you get ones that can handle the load, and those can. Most high-end flashlights don't even want you too mess with rechargeable cause they are more prone to go boom.

this is the part that is super important to highlight...non rechargeables that can handle the load are an option but you have to make sure of that fact... it's a thin line to walk and safety IS at stake..

If i'm not a RE RE and i don't try and recharge them, what would be the harm of using NON RECHARGEABLE CR 123 a batteries? what would be the issues? how is this anymore dangerous than rechargeable 123 batteries?

Also, if someone could help, i went to batteries plus and they had two of these.

Are these safe? if so please let me know..

I don't know if these are safe or not. I don't see where it says they are "protected" any where. Protected batteries have special circuitry built into them that prevents over charging or over discharging.

Especially, with unmatched cells in an enclosed device such as a flashlight, when they malfunction, they can release gases, build up pressure and explode. With flame and a big bang.

Non rechargeable lithium batts can also explode if used in series if the batteries are not matched, ie, one has lower voltage than the other.
