Apologies if this has been asked before, I tried searching but nothing obvious popped up.

I'm having an issue with my 510 batteries in the charger that came with the 510. I'll stick a bat in to charge. The led goes red. It completes the charge and the led goes green.

Most times, I take the bat out and it doesn't work at all. Nothing happens at all when I push the button. (manual bats). I stick it back in the charger and the led goes red. Between a minute and five later, the led goes green, I take the battery out and it works fine.

This is happening on both my 510 batteries. If I use the PCC, no probs at all. (Except that my PCC doesn't always seem to make the connection unless I tap it gently... I think its a separate issue but not too sure)....

Any ideas? (I'll probably buy a couple of new bats but just wanted to see if this is an issue that's been raised before)...

Thanks all!

I don't think it's a loose connection. This happens randomly to my batteries as well, both in the wall charger, and less frequently in my PCC.

I think it may be a fault of some some sort in the battery's internal protection circuitry, i.e., not being reset to allow use after being recharged.

I haven't noticed a pattern yet, but I'll try to pay more attention.

I've not yet encountered a non-charging battery, but I've noticed that sometimes upon insertion into the (wall) charger, the battery led does not flash 4times. If that happens, I take it out, and have to cycle the button a few times. Sometimes I have to hook it back up to an atty and depress the button until I get the led to flash the 35 times or whatever it is, indicating a lower bound voltage has been reached.

My guess is that until you've seen the 4 led flashes, the charger doesn't even know there's a battery present to initiate a charge.

I noticed the same thing, I just wait 10 seconds and then it works. There must be some kind of timer in the batt that checks for charging voltage and the battery is not usable until the voltage is absent.

The cases where it is usable right away are probably just good timing between removing the battery and the circuit making it's voltage check.
