Well with a couple of these killer deals going on out there with the Vamo I decided to pull the plug and order one but this will be my first AVP and I dont know too much about the different kinds of batteries these devices can use and which ones are the CORRECT kind. Reading all this stuff about batteries catching fire, leaking gases, having meltdowns and exploding kinda freaks me out! LOL Whats the deal with this? So basically I just want to know what are the best kinds of batteries to use with the Vamo? As a matter of fact they dont even have to be the "best" just CORRECT for this device. I want to get one 18650 and two 18350s so I can play with the devices different configurations. Do I need Protected? Unprotected? Hi-drain? Lo-drain? Flat top? Botton top? Which ones do I need and why? I will need a charger too. So if you guys can point me in the right direction as to what I need and where the best, cheapest place to order is id be very grateful!

It would be an excellent idea to give this post on battery safety a very careful read before using your VAMO.

When experimenting with different battery configurations please don't stack the 18350's unless you are willing to jump through the safety hoops of keeping the batteries permanently paired for use and charging. Mark the batteries as pairs and use a reliable system to ensure that the top and bottom position of the batteries are rotated for each use. Also, the batteries should be checked each time to make sure the voltage is the same before using them.

I have both an Xtar WP2 II as well as a Nitecore-Sysmax intelligent charger. The Xtar has been used for a longer period of time in the vaping community but I much prefer my Nitecore. Unlike the Xtar the Nitecore-Sysmax does not require the use of spacers, has stronger springs on the negative slider to make a more solid connection and automatically supplies the correct amps depending on what battery is being charged.

I would recommend using just an 18350 when you want it in small mode, and an 18650 for larger mode. Just my personal preference, but I wouldn't go through the trouble of using 2 18350s. Since it's VV and VW, really isn't much need to pair them unless you just have a ton of them sitting around already. My 18650 has more mah than 2 18350s put together would, so I really don't see the advantage to pairing them. If it were an issue of different voltages, that might matter if was a non-kicked SB or something. But with this being VV and VW, why bother? I'm currently using a Li-ion flat top 1800 mah 18650 that I used in my gripper. I've had no issues with it. I've got a button top IMR 2000 mah 18650 I normally use on a regular basis. I just got the V3 today with the better spring, and wanted to test my old flat tops, since they didn't work at all in the V1 vamo. As for my 18350, I just have one I got for free when I got my V1, and it's a 900 mah flat top, probably just a protected li-ion. Doesn't say, just says "dishy" on it *shrug*. I've used it a few times when my V1 drained the 2000 mah as a backup, and it worked fine. You've got several schools of thought about what battery is best. Everybody has their preferences. Do your research, figure out what sounds best for you, and go with that. I mean, you wouldn't go to a car dealership, have the salesman tell you "you can't see the car, you can't test the car, but since I'm telling you it's the best, you don't need to bother checking into it, just buy it and you'll love it!" Seems to be a lot of that running around on this forum. But there's also a TON of information, and that link Perspera provided is a good start. Enjoy!
