Well its a hit and miss proposition. Sometimes your lucky and some times your not. I have some that are 8 months old that are still going strong and some I had about a week died on me. I used the 510 and ordered some that were not Joye brand and they seem to have died quicker. I think you have just been unlucky. I have only had 3-4 die since I have been vaping.

Can I use a device like this

Digipower EBP-TM21 2 in 1 USB AC adapter and battery back up

(look p on Amazon please, not aloud to post site links yet :( )

with my 510 passthrough? It says the USB is 5V. Is that too much for the 520 passthrough? Does the voltage matter at all?

New here and cannot start my own thread yet. Hope I put this in the right place.

A USB passthrough device has a 3.7V battery inline between the USB connector end and the atomizer connector end. In other words, it uses the 5V USB connection to just charge the inline battery, the 3.7V inline battery is what actually supplies power to your atomizer.

I use the smoking everywhere. The batteries have a short life span of 4 months.

Now, my sister just gave me her ecig that she bought 6 months ago andn never really used(she didn't like it)and already aftet 2 wks, the battery is going? What is up?

Hi Pigelty,

Those slender rechargable batteries contained within the e-cigs are designed much more for ease of use / looks than for capacity or longevity. It's a wonder some of them last as long as they do given their size and capacity. If you want to have an e-cig with batteries that last longer between charges and don't expire in 1 to 4 months, you really will have to step up to a higher mah (milliamp hour) battery.

My recommendation is you look at one of the many battery mod products available that provide you with bigger batteries that will last much longer, and are cheap to replace. This is a good place to start to see what's available (I can't post links yet, so you can do it this way): (Google for: E-cig News: A run-down of all the big battery model e-cigarettes on the market)

There are many more out there besides what's shown at that link, but that gives you an idea. I also wanted to link to this item: (Google for: MadVapes.com item DSE905KITWHBS)
which seems like a really good price for a nice looking battery mod device.

Hope that helps a bit...

Liscab, is that due to liquid getting in the hole on an auto? On sealed manuals this wouldn't be an issue.
That's right, I can't control myself, I refill constantly so the liquid clog my inner switch in the autos, manual btry is some kind of unconfortable but once you get use to them yuo are done, just that I need shirts with a pocket

Even if the passthrough did not have an internal bettery, many of us enjoy 5 volts more then the standard 3.7v. You can go as high as 6v, but that can make for a harsh vape.
