The 3.7V 14500s seem easy enough to find 'Protected' but.....

CR2s 'Protected' ..they don't seem to exist ><

Last thing I need is an unprotected battery exploding like a grenade next to my face.

:|

Praying someone states that CR2s are safe unprotected!

:nun:

You can always use the LiFePO4 batteries, they don't seem to last as long but they are supposed to not explode. I did here someone had one fail, but I never saw the actual information.

I don't think anyone will claim that as there has been some failures in a couple of mod's with those batteries. I am unsure of what Brand they were however. I'd recommend sticking with the 14500 protected.:)

Just curious, have you ever thought about abusing some unprotected CR2's and see if you could get them to go boom in a S6 to test what would happen? I mean in some sort of testing, not actually using the S6 to vape with during the test of course.

that's why I chose to go with 2 3.7V protected 14250 batteries and a 5.2 ohm atty instead....granted the 14250 batteries are only 350mAh..but they are protected and the HV atty should help bring the wattage back down

This would seem to be the only option I would feel comfortable with.

Someone did mention in that link I posted that 'Protected' CR2s are being developed.

If true thats great news... if not ...I don't feel safe enough to use em.

PS - If/When anyone finds these CR2s 'Protected' please show link to purchase.

Update: Can't seem to find any 'Protected'+'Rechargeable' 14250 Batteries.
( I don't trust any battery with writings on them that I could possibly recreate myself )
I don't wanna purchase any bootleg looking batteries...

Madvapes already has protected CR2's in stock.... The stock may not last long though, so you better hurry if you want them....

Kris

I received a couple sets of these last week from Madvapes. They are a good 2-3 mm longer than unprotected CR2s. My S6 should arrive anyday now so I'll report back whether they fit or not.

I tried protected CR2s (aka 15270's) from smokejuiceUK I believe it was and they didn't fit, they are too wide. I have not tried these ones from madvapes though. If anyone has, let me know what you found out.

Thanks... I ordered some and if nobody has updated this by the time my S6 arrives I will try them and see if they fit....

I'd imagine they are the same though... Bummer...

Ahh.... Bet they don't fit then... Bummer... Let me edit my post so people don't see it and order before reading further...

The 14250 batteries I found were at madvapes..they appear out of stock currently

when I asked about maximum battery dimensions David said "about 15.367mm X 57mm maximum"...
the 2 protected CR2s from madvapes would be 15mm x 58mm...
the protected 14250 14mm in diameter and 26mm tall... so 2 of them would be 52mm..
...14500 is 14mm x 50mm by the way and unprotected CR2 15mm x 54mm

Just a heads up...for those looking to buy the Ultrafire protected CR2s from Madvapes for their S6, please save your money as they do not fit. Of the 6 CR2s I got, I was able to only get 2 of them to fit in the tube. In addition, they are just too long (about 3mm longer than unprotected CR2s). I could only get the adapter to screw in about 1-2 threads before it activates by itself and this was with all the washers removed from the switch. :(

Alright I tried once again tonight looking for 'Protected' CR2s for safe HV usage.

I found these......

Now this is a perfect example of what I meant when I posted earlier about 'Bootleg' batteries.

I mean seriously, my grandmother could've created a more authentic looking label for these... No way in hell would I feel safe using anything resembling anything like those.

But this is a Super-SIX not a Super-THREE.SEVEN volt >< That totally defeats the whole point of purchasing the item. I wanted to buy this but CR2 batteries are not sold 'Protected' and 'Unprotected' CR2 batteries are the only battery I know of that have exploded on people vaping. Before anyone says anything, I DO NOT care if a battery explosion is as likely as getting hit by lightning... The danger is a SERIOUS concern of mine. The fact that it CAN and HAS happened makes this too damn dangerous. I don't feel like losing my front teeth, having my jaw broken and sustaining burns from any possible explosion just to vape when other 5V+ Mods are already available that support 'Protected' batteries for High Volt Usage.... and the untested holes at the bottom of the Super-Six ...no I don't feel any safer unless its tested & confirmed & THEN deemed 'safe'.

Forcedfuel50 all ya gotta do is alter its dimensions by fractions of an inch so that the RCR123a 'Protected' Batteries can fit.

Is that not possibly ever going to happen? I WANT this item but cannot purchase it as is....

:evil:8-o:evil:

EDIT: Never will I consider purchasing a BB or any other Mods that continue to use CR2 batteries for HV use neither.....
I apologize for being overly critical but my words are fair enough. For such a highly crafted device & high price - I expect more than a potential ticking-time bomb. ( The only reason I posted this here and NOT AltSmokes is cuz your Mod is the one I wanted to purchase. )

You designed the S6 to work for only 'Unprotected' Batteries. ><

You may want to hold out for my Big battery mod, that will take two CR123a's or one 18650:) Obviously, it's going to gain some girth, and it will be a standard top botton type mod, but like all Super T's, she's going to be a nicely crafted beauty! Hoping to have it in March sometime!

Yeah, it was originally a prototype i did up for a customer who prefers CR2's. At the time, there were no Protected Cr2's, so the dimensions of the S6 were sized around smaller batteries.

I hate buying batteries out of the country, I usually takes 2-3 weeks to get them.I was buying from Battery Junction but they had a fire the other day and will be closed for a while. I then used Battery Station which is located in MO. They have a good selection with good prices.

Deal Extreme is out of the country.
