I have 7, and I have a system to ensure long life of the batteries.
I use 1 battery per day. That's not forced, one battery just lasts me all day. Each battery is numbered 1-7, and I rotate them out each day of the week. This way, each individual battery gets charged and discharged one time per week.

I have 4 batteries for my ProVari... two 18490's and two 18650's for my extension cap... it's all I need, until I get another ProVari 
I have 4 Provaris, all V2's with extension caps. I have 12 18650's dedicated to my Provaris. They get used in rotation and are rested before recharge after use, and rested in their boxes after recharge.
LOL I started out with only 2. Charge one while using the other, but I killed both in like 4 months, so I decided to go big. The only thing I haven't done yet is get a Pila charger, which I will be doing soon. I don't feel good about having my AW's on the Trustfire charger, but it's working so far. At the moment I've been buying up my ideal setup, then I'll get the charger.
The Xtar WP2 is a really good battery charger that can be bought for around $20. I saw a test that rated it right there with the Pila, and it's less than 1/2 the price.
I have two AW IMR 18650's for my provari that I rotate on my pila. Both are a year old and still last all day.
And THESE kind of reports are why I will drop the extra cash on a Pila.
Two 18490s charged on a wpII. No issue so far. I change them out right when my flashing light starts so they don't get too low.
Iv got a V1, and 4 18490's I use the original 2 and keep the other 2 for when they wear out. Its been 8 months, and thr original 2 still last me a day or more. I'm a light vaper...
I'm ordering a white Provari this week with the extension cap. I just ordered four-18650 AW IMR batteries (they will share duty with my Silver Bullet) and two-18490 AW IMR batteries strictly for the Provari when I feel like going shorter. I also ordered two more 14500 AW IMR batteries for my BB.

I have only 2 18490's so far to use on both of my ProVaris. Before I received them I thought I'd need more but so far so good. I just took a trip to Sedona and have been vaping on the same 18490 for almost 2 full days. I packed a full spare ProVari, battery, and other misc parts and liquid but didn't need any of it. Battery check shows 3.7 right now.
I will probably still get a couple more at some point just for backup purposes.

I'm still using the same 18490 going on almost 3 full days, battery check shows 3.5. I feel like I've vaped a ton too since I haven't been working where I don't vape much at all. Very impressed with the battery life so far.
