Fresh off the charger, they are around 4.2v, after they rest, they settle in to the actual voltage of around 4.1v. Once they've rested and you put them back on the charger, the charger thinks they are low and it needs to bring them back up to 4.2v.
batteries left unused can also slowly self discharge. Meaning if you don't use a battery after being charged for a few months, it can slowly discharge over time then need topped off. Self discharging is very minimal, I want to say it's around 1% a month last I checked?

Samsung 18650 and intelli charger 4 bay.

This is a common problem I have with my older Nitecore i4 intelli-charger. Bay1 especially despises my Sony VTC4's, but has no problems detecting proper charge on my LG and Samsung batteries. Thus why it sits as a backup to my Efest LUC/Blu and Xtar chargers. Try any of the other bays with that battery, then also after charge double check that battery with a multi-meter over the next couple days at low charge (check your mod's cutoff voltage (lowest charge per battery) and then after full charge).

Example:
Mod cut off = 3.2v per battery
Multi-meter reading = 3.15 to 3.25v (variance of mod reading taken into account)
Battery off Charger = Should be between 4.1 and 4.22 upto 4.25 is fine, if the battery is 4.0v or below, battery is aged, time to recycle

I have the same problem too with my Nitecore UM20 and LG HG2's. Once both reach 100% I remove them and they usually will say something 94% and 98%. It usually takes a good 15 mins to wait till they both show 100% on the bay. I've been wondering this too for a long time actually. Is this the right way to do things or should we just be removing them the first time they show full?

Technically it is better for the battery to be between 4.10 to 4.19v, not full 4.2v, as fully charging them scratches away at their aging so to say. Yet the error I have noticed with my Nitecore is from a drained battery placed in bay 1, blinks a bit as the charger "Reads" the battery, then plop, stops charge with full bars though I know the battery is at 3.6 to 3.7v. Still the charging algorithm of the Nitecore chargers are the gentlest.

So in other words, stop putting them back on the charger a 2nd time thinking I'm topping it off somehow? As far as your drained battery error goes.. I haven't seen that yet. Maybe I will when the batteries start to show their age.

Sorry for going a little off topic but what are the warning signs that it's time to replace our 18650's? I'd assume when we start to notice significant loss in vape time on the batteries but what else? How long do we continue to use these for? I'm only using single cell Kbox's but am looking to stockpile an RX200S and possibly one or two double cell mods.

When should you replace a battery?
