battery charger cord

I looked around on here and didn't come up with anything so I'll ask. Does anyone else have a problem with the cord on the AC charger being too short? It kinda limits where you can plug it in to charge the batteries. Another foot or two longer would be super.
Do you guys at V4L have any plans in the future to have longer cords for the AC charger?

I'd love to see a longer cord for it also, I have a fairly decent place to plug mine in but if the cord was longer I'd have it in a more convenient location.

Thanks, I just thout of it this morning. Here at work all the outlets in my office are halfway up the wall. The outlet at my desk is still about a foot above it. But even my outlets at home are behind furniture or something that just really needs a longer cord.

I totally agree, the cord is ridiculously short. Same goes for my 901 AC charger. I tend to use the usb charger much more because of this issue. I can't fathom how the manufacturers intended them to be used. Placed on a foot stool underneath the outlet? I just let mine hang (my outlets are about 2 feet off the floor), the battery end touches the floor... could be sanitary depending on where you are.

That power cord is the same as many laptops, boomboxes and lots of other equipment uses. You've probably got one lying around the house.

If not, Radio Shack sells a 6-footer.

My chargers for the M401s and old ones for the RN4081s have extremely short charger cords. Makes USB the easiest way to go. Must be an industry thing.

It gives me a good contortionist workout when I have to snake under a bunch of things to plug it in ;-)

I use an extention cord.

same cord for my original xbox and ps2, I am currently using a old one of those and it works fantastic

I thought the end of the cord looked familiar. Now I know where I saw it (playstation)

Also stereo tuners, some older kitchen appliances, floor-wart power supplies, etc. Been a staple since the 70's.

That said - the most expensive part of the charger is the copper in the cord. There's three primary reasons for short cords: 1) high amperage devices that need short runs 2) safety issues of being able to reach the end and yank it (applies to tools, for example) 3) BOM cost.

In this case, my bet goes to #3.
