I'm looking for a charger that will work with the sony vtc5. I bought the Nitecore i4 and it didn't work. I've got the standard 2 slot truefire that does work but was wondering what else is out there.
I have the Efest LUC v4 and I love it so far. I had the Nitecore i2, and it went goofy on me after a few months so I didn't trust it anymore. I did some digging and the problems I'd seen with the i2 were not uncommon, and others reported it showing batteries fully charged after only a few seconds when they were not.
I'm not convinced that I believe what a popular vendor has to say about the compatibility of the Nitecore chargers and Sony VTC5 batteries, but here's their opinion that the xtar chargers are the best option.
I've personally been using 3 Sony VTC4 30 amp batteries in a Nitecore i4 for about a month with no issues at all. Batteries check out to 4.2 volts off the charger. I may have four batteries charging simultaneously ( I also use AW batteries).
Yeah, I would double check that charger, it might have something wrong with it. I have a Nitecore i2, and it's a great little charger. It will basically charge anything that will physically fit in the bay.

I am using a Jetbeam i4 (Version 3?) which is a rebranded Nitecore I believe. So far I've had zero problems charging multiple batteries at once. All I use are IMR batteries, either VTC5 or efest purple 35a. A friend of mine uses Nitecore i4 with no issues and AW batteries.
I own and have been using an Nitecore I4 since Feb 2014. I have charged 4 Panys on multiple occasions. Yes the charge time for 4 bats does seem longer for 4 bats than it is for 1 or 2. I have had only one issue with the charger. The slot slides were not smooth. A thin film of vaseline took care of that issue. So, thanks Vaperev for your recommendation.
I have the nitecore i4 on its way to me with car adapter and house plug. I hate the cheap chargers I currently have. This will work with all my aa lith ion batteries as well Im excited. Then next i need some good imr or hybrid batteries. Then I am golden

To report back the nitecore i4 is amazing it charges so fast compared to the cheap chargers I am pleased it charges everything so fast I am actaully amped up. I can use it in my car or at home hard to beat that. I have no regrets in getting this charger.
I've got an earlier version of the XTAR WP2 II that needs spacers for 18350s. If you feel like spending more take your pick of the XTAR WP2S, XTAR VP1, or XTAR VP2.
