battery charging, constant or drain?

is it better to discharge the battery until low then charge or constantly recharge with 18650's? In terms of longevity. I know its best to have a few spares but i often forget.

I have a 134 mini that'll take either 18350's or 18490/500's. I recharge them at about mid 30% percent. There is a green/yellow/red LED in the fire button. I almost always recharge (or just remove) the battery as soon as it is red. This doesn't really answer your question though.

It's better to top them off, without discharging too low.
