I have the ego xl with the 900 mah batt and the charger that came with it is a 4.2v 420 mA and I just got another spare charger that is different at 4.2 200 mA. Will this just take longer to charge? are they all pretty much interchangable as long as it has a 510 fitting? Thanks, Scott

The 200ma charger most likely will work but take a much longer period of time to charge. Not all are interchangeable - never use a faster charger (higher output current {ma}) than recommended for the battery.
TNScooter, the standard Ego wall charger is 5vdc @ 500ma and takes about an hour and a half or a little less to charge the 650ma battery. With a 900mah battery you should be looking a a little over 2 hours with the 420mah charger and over 4 hours with the 200mah charger. The voltage is not so much a consideration since the battery is only charged to 3.92vdc anyway.

What does this mean for USB chargers, which you can presumably plug into an adapter with just about any amperage? Is it regulated by the charger itself?

crud I did not see the difference on MV web site and looks like I got the wrong charger for both car and home. Nothing like the expence of being new. So far with the 420ma hooked to my laptop it has taken less than 30 min. but am sure it isnt fully discharged.
Pop over to the MV website and do a ticket, or call during normal business hours. I bet they can work something out for a return and get you what you need.
I thought about trying to send back but it was my fault and for the two of them it was only about $6 and not worth the double shipping. Live and learn, I just ordered the right ones since the car charger was the one I wanted the most for the PT.
The wall POWER SUPPLY OUTPUT for an eGo is 5v/500ma, which is the INPUT for the CHARGER which has the required 4.2v/420ma output for charging LiIo batts in the 600-900ma range.
My Riva batts come off an eGo charger at 4.12-4.15v
