What are veterans' experiences with when to recharge the battery? So far I've been plugging in a battery (CigEasy Elite 808) before it gets down too far, but when it's "done" and it has the 3 LEDs all lit up, it very quickly goes down to 2 LEDs. Should I let the battery run down more before recharging?

I know that with computer laptop batteries, it is recommended that you let the charge run way down before you recharge.

So far this isn't a problem since I work from home but once I start having to be more mobile, it could be a concern. Thanks in advance.

LiIon batteries actually like being charged as frequently as is feasible for you. They have a certain number of charge cycles (usually you'll see a number like 200 or 300 charges quoted in specs for 510/eGo style batteries) but that counts complete discharge/recharge cycles; partial cycles only count as a partial charge. Moreover there is a logarithmic relationship between the depth of discharge before charging in determining how many times you can charge overall, and frequent charges after shallow discharges will, over time, equal many more equivalent complete charge/discharge cycles than if you only charged when it's very low. In layman's terms: Less use before charging = longer overall battery life.

I don't know what type of batteries you have but if you are talking about batteries like the ego charge them when they run down but when they are charged take them off the charger as soon as they are I have read about batteries exploding if left on a charger too long If you are taking about batteries for a mod then charge them before they run down but same rules apply about leaving on a charger too long Take them off the charger when they have charged

I've used this method for my laptop batteries for years and have had great results.

Discharge/use till you think it's dead, not till it says it's dead.
LiIon batteries would rather charge from 20%-30% than 0%. A battery going from 100% to 0% is like you running a marathon, 100% to 20%-30% is like going out for a short jog. Which one do you want to do multiple times a day?

Once a week when you charge a battery do this: When the charger says full, take out the battery and use maybe 10%-15% charge, plug it back in and recharge to full. Repeat five or so times.
This will actually increase the total mA-hour rating of the battery. Think of this as doing stretches

Once a month completely discharge the battery and recharge to full.
Even though LiIon batteries don't suffer from "memory" problems, they do suffer from "laziness" problems. A LiIon battery that never gets emptied occasionally will slowly lose it's total mA-Hour rating.
