Setup: Prodigy V3 with a 17670 3.7V 1800mah Li-ion, 1.5ohm dual coil carto
The Prodigy V3.1 (V3 is so old they don't list it anymore, here's the link for the 3.1)

I am considering buying a Smoktech Plastic Bolt, paired with a smok Titan 6ml tank (and getting one for my V3 since I lost my 6ml DCT)
Plastic Bolt: SMOKtech Plastic 18650 510 BOLT Rubberized Paint - RED [gv-Plastic18650BOLT-RED] - $19.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more
smok Titan: GotVapes SMOK TiTan™ Modular Clear Top Coil Tank 6ml - 2.5ohm, [gv-SMOKTitan6ml-CLEAR] - $10.76 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

Questions:

- The Bolt says it's made for 18650, but the description says protected batteries may not fit well, and seems to be recommending an unprotected IMR... I thought unprotected batteries in mechanical mods were a recipe for disaster... or was that uneducated hysteria?

- I would like to keep a single battery size, and currently have three 17670s... can I use those in the Bolt? If not, can I use the 18650s in the V3? If not is there a battery size that will fit both mods?

- Are there any flaws with my desired set-up... I mean the tank and either of these mods or battery combos?

Thank you in advance for your assistance and please let me know if there is any necessary information I failed to provide

First question- Imrs are considered safe chemistry batteries, and are a little shorter than protected batteries due to lack of a circuit board, I highly recommend AW IMRs, they cost a little more but you get what you pay for, and you'll thank yourself

Second questions- No, there are not any batteries that will fit both mods.

Third- I don't see any flaws in your desired setups.
